Lineup 2015

To be fair from a booking POV Linkin Park haven't done a festival based around their new album and I think with Blink they've shown a disregard to relevance anyway. It's hard to believe any of the acts with a top 10 album in the past year are in with a shot though somehow.

Well I mean The Black Keys are boring as shit live and would make a crap headliner, so they must be likely. Could easily be booked this early as they're already in contact with Melv for Latitude. Seem a perfect size for the co-headliner bollocks that Melvin seems to want every year. Not regulars. Lots of us thought they were very likely anyway.

their new album utterly failed though. even in the US, where they've somehow managed to maintain a strong fanbase, it only reached #3, behind Lana Del Rey and Sam Smith of all people (i know #3 doesn't sound that bad but considering they've had #1s for years and years it's the start of their downfall). i don't think anybody in the crowd would know any of the new songs (or the ones from the album before that... or the album before that)

but yeah you're right, none of those acts seem right really

The same album reached number 2 in the UK which is better than Blink have ever done...

obviously i don't have any album statistics but i can almost guarantee it fell out of the top ten the following week. first week sales from mega fans - then nothing

the one bonus point of Blink not having much new material was that people (still) knew all the songs and it was still a greatest hits set. Linkin Park playing a lot of new material from their past few albums would go down like a sack of shit. i don't know who the hell is still buying their albums but it isn't the R/Ls crowd i can assure you that

And again, could have said the exact same thing about Blink (and others in the past) and they still headlined.

I get the point, they're not as popular as they were, but as dental has said R&L have shown they don't really care and will book bands if they've lost popularity but are still a ticket shifter, which Linkin Park are.

But Linkin Park haven't sold out their own tours... so are they even a ticket shifter?

Blink sold out their tours.
