Rock Werchter 2014

Guest Dead throne

Recommended Posts

Been thinking about going to this for years and came the closest ever to going this year. Really think next year may be a possibility. Looking at past lineups something like some of this for main would be good (unfortunately excluding Arcade Fire due to above statements):

Muse - Kanye West or The Prodigy

Queens of the Stone Age - Arctic Monkeys

Nine Inch Nails - Pearl Jam

Linkin Park - Metallica

Biffy Clyro

Kasabian

Mastodon

White Lies

dEUS - or possibly headline again? Would not complain at all love this band and never seen them. Rock Werchter is probably one of my best opportunities to see them get a good length set also.

Rise Against

Placebo

Eagles of Death Metal

Franz Ferdinand

Deftones

Marilyn Manson

Pixies

The Kills

Just a few bands that come to mind.

Fall Out Boy will be at RW without a doubt.

Wouldn't say Linkin Park as a certainty though. Graspop (two weeks before Werchter) often shares names with Download more than Werchter does, and it's also aimed at the harder acts. It should also be noted that of all those times that LP played summer festivals in Europe in the past 10 years, they only played Belgium once. That was RW 2011, and on top of that the day Linkin Park headlined didn't sell so well...

Don't worry. First headliners for the European festivals came only the day before yesterday. Other big festivals that take place before Werchter (Rock Am Ring, Pinkpop, BKS) haven't announced anything either. Guess first names for those festivals and Werchter will come in the next month.

    • Spring (or early) next year now.   Says to me that the album is/was delayed. I've done some digging but not had anything beyond that.
    • Same’s happened at MSG recently with Rush and Phish alternating nights. I guess each band has its own unique production so their riggers will be kept busy
    • The rumour was uk arena tour late this year.  Same as Charli xcx cant be announced until Reading headline is done.
    • Latest from the sun at least is that harry is still headlining but Olivia has turned down a spot next year to work on new music and hope for 2028.   So they can't have Fender, Fontaines, Harry, Olivia and Madonna.
    • I mean I don't think EC and FFDP are borderline sub, they wouldn't be any lower now.   2025 is about as strong as Bloodstock gets yet this year only one headline would sub and the others would play 3rd down or lower.    Machine Head wouldn't sub at Download regardless of rarity, they don't sell enough tickets and I'm not sure Gojira would sub either. Their last UK tour was a mix of smaller arenas and academy dates. Ally Pally being the only London date, not even Wembley Arena.
