Ok, I was just doing a simple festival math ...but IF they play, I hope it's as a sub as I HATE Linkin Park

I wouldn't call Linkin Park certain. Keep in mind that they only played Belgium twice in the past 15 years (2001 gig, and Werchter 2011), and that they did 4-5 June/July festival tours in those 15 years... Not to mention that the LP headlining day in 2011 was the worst selling day of the past 5 editions (sold out in the week of the festival).

So unless LP agrees to a sub-like spot (similar to KoL this year), they won't be there.

Yep, joint headliners indeed. Though I prefer calling it an upgraded sub, since they're taking the same spot as i.e. The National, they're just getting 15min of extra set time and a bigger poster font.

And Gossard, I hate them a lot, that's why I'm doing all this reasoning against them!

No way that's happening, if they're in Europe during that weekend, it'll be RW and nothing else. The one off on the Werchter site in 2012 happened because had to leave Europe at the end of June for their Orion fest. Not to mention there's Graspop Metal Meeting the weekend before RW, and they wouldn't harm a festival they have a partnership with.

Yeah, it basically turned into a 'festival' of its own: Werchter Boutique. A headliner that's able to fill a field but isn't suited for RW that year gets its own day, along with extended support.

So far: Madonna - Prince - Metallica - Muse. Can see Lady Gaga or Rolling Stones do that next year.

Just wish they could do it a couple of days before werchter so I can timetable it I to my trip.

Rock werchter site has changed to 2014 so won't be long for the first announcement.

A French radio presenter said Metallica will be there, and he 'leaked' big Werchter/Main Square names in the past, so it's quite trustworthy.

Also, this seems like a reasonable line up:

Placebo - Arctic Monkeys - The Prodigy

Elbow - Muse

Pixies - Pearl Jam (- possible dance act in the shape of Major Lazer/Goose)

This guy also said that RATM would play Arras in 2012, but that didn't pan out. But having said that, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to predict that Metallica will play RW14

So are we expecting the first announcement Monday when sonisphere have there announcement? To coincide with more Metallica dates.
