I'm actually pretty oblivious who could headline next year, there doesn't seem the big bands touring at the minute. Although everything could come more clear in the next few months.

Arctics Monkeys are pretty nailed on by what the Belgium guys say, then maybe prodigy. I can see arctics/prodigy combo Thursday night.

Other than that I'm at a loss who's around. Maybe Pearl Jam, maybe oasis if the rumour is reliable.

That said, i doubt I'd make it next year, it'll be when the World Cup is on and I'd kind of rather not go away when that is on, well not to somewhere where I can't see it haha. And I'm going to be honest, I'm kind of got the had enough of feeling really grubby and dirty now haha

haha I kind of think the only place really worth being at during the world cup if your going away is where the world cup will be held. Friends of mine had a top time the other year in Ibiza as Spain were in it but a mate went to Zante the year Greece won the Euro's and said it was mental - might have been his best holiday for that added reason.

That would really annoy me. Especially as Foos are my favourite band, I can imagine a crowd full of drunk lads that couldn't care less for Foos and just waiting to watch the football.

I was at IOW when England played and I watched a very empty tent for Pulled Apart By Horses and Ash. England just aren't worth it, live music is 100 times better and you rarely get disappointed with it, not half as much as football anyway!

There's gonna be a fourth stage on a different field from next year on, featuring electronic music, which will only start playing late in the evening once the music on the other stages is nearly done. Perhaps they could use this stage to show the football games? No music interrupted, plenty of space for people, and everyone makes his own choice about watching the game (that is: if Belgium is playing a game during Rock Werchter, otherwise I doubt they'll show anything).

Yes, the organiser said it on the radio after this year's festival. But what I said in my previous post is the only stuff we know now. There's also going to be a complete makeover on the camping site, but I'm not sure if that also starts in 2014.

And with the whole permission to move from 2 to 4 stages over a couple of years + changing the camping site format, I think we can safely say it'll stay in Werchter for at least another decade.

That's exactly their intention... Moving from 10-15 smaller camping sites to 3 big ones (zone A, B and C), camping is included in festival ticket rather than a separate one, organisation of the sites will go more to the festival organisers and less to the local volunteers.

I actually don't see the point in this, the Werchter camping sites are some of the best organized in Europe.

I asked about this forth stage Dietediet talked about and this is the answer I got:

We’re thinking about an extra stage since quite some time, but we don’t know exactly what this is going to be… More on that will be announced whenever necessary J

Kind regards,

RW

    • Audrey Hobert getting a lot of traction lately and new single on Friday. Wonder if she could be round next summer.
    • Think Pulp are optimistic, not in terms of size but just that they've been on the road (albeit not intensively) for 3 years in a row and it feels like EotR is the deliberate end of the cycle.   Would be fairly surprised if they're active next year.
    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
