"Why was there pressure?"

Do you really need that spelled out for you? It's been said over and over. Every single game has pressure on it for Liverpool now. Every point won is vital.

As for fucking it up for a replacement manager, it can't be any worse than the situation that was left for him.

A player I think would be a good signing for Man Utd is Vlaar from Villa. I have been very impressed over the last 2 seasons by both his performances but the leadership he has shown in a young and inexperienced defence. At age 29 there would be no resale value but I think they could get a good few years out of him. Any thoughts?

So a certain indeterminate (maybe 2 people, maybe 10,000) number of fans get a pass on this? Super.

My view is that there's a huge swell of Utd's fanbase that are sickened by this. Yet there's also a huge swathe that revel in it. No "small minority" is audible on the telly lads. Cmoffit.

Moyes has a huge huge job on his hands.

he inherited a title winning team that lost no players of note, and has spent £65M on that team, and it's got massively worse.

Utd can think that Moyes has a huge job on his hands or Utd can think how the job can be made much easier.

If Utd get beat in the CL this week (quite likely given how poorly they're playing) then I can easily see Moyes out of a job before next weekend. I'd say it's 80%+.

nah, it's not - that's the beauty. No pressure means they can go out and perform at their (perhaps) best without worries. A higher finishing place is better, but anything above 4th is a bonus.

The pressure for Liverpool this season has been about a top 4 place and nothing more. After yesterday's games they've just about guaranteed that now, as it's difficult to see any of the lower teams being able to make a meaningful challenge for top 4 now.

So they can play with freedom and aim for the title, and have no shame if they come up short (which I suspect they will). It's as pressure-free as any team is ever likely to get.

    • Either or. They both play the same venues.

    • Interesting to read. It's mostly why we stopped going a few years back even though it's the nearest big festival to home. The post-exams timing and location makes it a rites of passage first festival for people in a big area. Understandably that leads to a bit of giddiness. Think lineup would need to be a lot more my cup of tea to be enticed back. Friends who are there are having a good time tho and no rain is a good thing for up there.
    • I honestly didn't know it had, I still thought it was where the view overlooked the lake and view.   I think my decision not to attend this year at least was justified. Biffy was the big draw but after Finsbury I knew they wouldn't play what I want to hear again and well work also got in the way. Believed interesting to hear if Libertines were any good as they were also a pull but Sunday did nothing for me really with all my acts on Friday and Saturday.
