erm ... that's not true.

I had a number of people tell me privately here that they knew for certain that Radiohead were one of the special guests, including which day, and how exactly they knew (some of which I was able to check out and so confirm what I was being told as true). Unfortunately for people here each word I had also had me promise to not repeat it on here.

However, some of those people did post what they knew. The problem for readers here is that they were simply one rumour amongst a number of other rumours, so there was nothing to indicate what they'd posted as believable over other things.

If I'm remembering the years rightly, I'd made clear that Thom would definitely be on site to perform in at least some capacity, as i'd revealed that he'd been knocked back for a DJ-ing slot by one venue. So it wan't too difficult to join up the dots.

Hot Chip could work as they have been billed as a UK festival exclusive for Latitude, so this would be a way of them playing and getting around it.

I might have a look at their dates and member's bands to see if its possible.

Certainly the 2 bears (joe) are on site altho not listed to play on sunday. Al Doyle's band New Build are playing on Sunday so thats 2 of them potentially on site. but there like 7+ members in the live band.

it seems no band members are booked to be anywhere else on the sunday, so in theory it is possible, although unlikely. Alexis Taylor's side project play in London on the 2nd July.

To be honest if i were them I would use my contacts to get press / guest tickets and just enjoy the festival without playing!

hahaha imagine if it was The Script. that'd be the funniest thing ever. although i'd be tempted to watch if only for Breakeven. THAT'S A GODDAMN TUNE AND I WON'T HEAR A BAD WORD SAID ABOUT IT

but yeah they'd definitely be on Pyramid if they were playing, which they're not thankfully

times come out tomorrow so we can finally find out if this is true or not! (well... we still won't know if it's definitely true as Cat Power could indeed just be finishing early for a completely different reason...)

    • Kind of crackers how fast this summer seems to be sailing by. But aye, must be some news soon!
    • I am very possibly wrong about this but I do think that the pitch you get allocated appears to be related to your time of arrival, (i.e. you get the next one available) rather than the price you paid for a small, medium or large pitch.  They all appear to be the same size to me.

    • Liddle: "Drop a small nuclear bomb on Glastonbury to immediately remove from our country almost everybody who is hugely annoying.”   Farage: Free speech!    Polanski: accepts a collaboration on 20 innocuous looking set of photos on instagram but doesn't notice that one that says 'making plans for Nigel' with a guillotine image.   Farage: I expect the MET police to arrest him.
    • I take my lad to the local non-league club - Royston Town - not he's 13, he goes there with his mates and he plays in their youth team.  Not many people there - lucky if they hit 800, but lovely supporting the town team.  I've took him to some league clubs too - Cambridge and Stevenage are great to visit and not crazy prices - his first one was Cambridge v Sunderland (I'm a mackem) when they were in league 1, so a great experience for him.  The England matches aren't too bad value either at Wembley - it's just the parking that stings you. Problem is, he's a City fan, so at some point have to bite the bullet and get him up to the Ethiad. Have done the tour, but he'd love a proper game....my wallet, less so!
