Sunday Music Recommendations.

Having now had a look at the full lineup and the draft clashfinder, I see that there is bugger all on music-wise that I'm fussed about on the Sunday. I'd like to take the opportunity to check out some new stuff, so would appreciate some recommendations and descriptions of acts that you love.

Cheers.

I'm actually quite glad the Sunday lineup is 'weak'. After hectic Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights with loads of acts I want to see, I'm quite looking forward to a more relaxed Sunday visiting some of the stages I've probably not spent much time at such as The Park (Laura Mvula, Tim Burgess) and JP (Tom Odell, Jessie Ware). West Holts looks good early afternoon with Riot Jazz and Dub Colossus as does Williams Green I'll defo be seeing The Beat and Ulrich Schnauss, Vacines and The View are all playing there too.

It actually not that weak at all really when you delve a bit deeper into the lineup.. :)

If you are after a last night hook-up, Nick Cave is playing and he is popular among the ladies.

Lianne La Havas is really good in a laid back, soulful, poppy way

Rudimental are a chart dance band of some flair and definite appeal for me

Phoenix is the sort of alt-rock band much loved by American college radio. Again, poppy and fun.

Eat Static and System 7 are on - dance electronica. S7 are Steve Hillege, one time Gong member and arch-hippy. Eat Static are the Ozric Tentacles in all but name.

No probably not, we're gonna camp on Dairy Ground I reckon. And besides Ive got no intentions of spending much time at the tents. If the weathers good, the gazebo probably wont see much action, unless you wanna come hang out Russy ;)

I'll probably swerve the Mumfords, and go check a headliner on a smaller stage.

Sunday is my busiest day. Nick Cave is a given (check him out if you've not seen him before) and I'm very excited about PiL. Vampire Weekend are good for a sunny feelgood moment. Public Service Broadcasting are my favourite new band and a bit different. And Kenny Rogers will be fun too I reckon.

And then there's Brucie...

I know people are a bit more critical of the lineup this year, but for me it's pretty good, with stuff to see every day. On Sunday, I would recommend:

The Heavy

I am Kloot

The Congos

Sergio Mendes

Michael Kiwanuka

Nick Cave

Lianne La Havas

Bobby Womack

Cat Power

Hollie Cook

Dreadzone

Charles Bradley

TBH, Rudimental at Hell - I missed that. Is it on well late? Had myself down for seeing them at Sonic, but that might alleviate a clash. Aside from that, it was Palma Violets and a few other things at Williams Green, bit no "must sees".

Seen Subfocus a couple of times and would consider this, but the wee hours of Monday morning I'll be in bed. I'm nearly 40, so will be utterly wiped by then. Suspect this is what you were alluding to Wooders.

In terms of taste I don't want to pigeonhole it. My taste is varied. Anything that makes me think/feel/move will do.

    • My understanding is that the queues returning back to the UK will be much worse (up to two hours) but the queue entering Lisbon isn’t so bad. That’s just from reading a few forum posts about it though so take it with a pinch of salt!

    • World Cup 2026: What is happening with ticket prices? - BBC Sport   Sounds like Infantino has been learning from his buddy if he's running around claiming its all sold out while quietly dumping tickets below face on assorted secondary websites.
    • Mac DeMarco also cancelled
    • I'm British so it very much would apply for me.   I mean, it's a moot point as I don't have tickets so will not be in town for this, but I've heard reports of lengthy queues and given I remember Lisbon Airport having a long queue at arrivals even pre-EES when I went in 2023, I seem to guess it might be quite the wait, depending on flight paths.   Certainly, the worst I've had pre-EES was a 45 minute wait for a stamp at Valencia Airport in Spain, where 4 flights to non-EU destinations in quick succession were placed one after the other. So I can't say I'm enthusiastic about what's in store. Or you know. Maybe I'm just overthinking it.
