i'm thinking the "very special guests" billing is just compensation for the fact they've got a crap slot to be honest

edit: maybe it's V's take on the current co-headliner trend, two acts who aren't worthy of headlining but stick them on at the same time and wahey you've got yourself enough of a crowd pleaser on at once as you would with a full-strength headliner

Very special guest could still mean they get to headline a stage.

Pretty sure we already got info on here that Axwell was headlining mtv

yeah looks like chase and status have got it wrong to me to be honest

killers/paolo nutini/lily allen/rudimental

axwell/chase and status/sub focus

chic/someone unnanounced

fairly clear the other day is:

JT/Sheeran/Example/Kaisers/Tom Odell

Elbow/Manics/Blondie

Alesso/Above & Beyond

I think you have Killers day right, im not sure about JT day main stage i havent had chance to have a proper think about it all yet

You mean killers? They aren't unworthy of a headline slot just because people on here hate them

It was questionable if The Killers merited a headline booking in 2012 though, but at least then they were touring their least successful album. They've done absolutely nothing to continue being deemed headline status in the last two years, in fact they are supposed to be on hiatus. ...

edit: don't get me wrong I like them, but they're nowhere near as popular as they were in any of the years they previously headlined.

21 announced for The Killers day and 27 for JT.

Still some reasonable ish sized acts to come then

Yeah I noticed that too. Maybe an Arena headliner like last year, or a second stage sub or third. T in the Park have just announced Reverend and the Makers, DJ Fresh and The Charlatans so maybe we would see them again

At least it adds a little more to the idea Bastille will be on the Killers day

K

Ha ha. The Killers dont merit headline status. Christ some of the comments on this are brilliant

What? I think they merit headline status more than people such as Biffy

Yes hopefully :)

The Killers not headline material. Are you serious?! :suicide:

They sold out Wembley Stadium 9 months ago for christ's sake!

I'd be insanely surprised if we don't get Razorlight

I wouldnt be surprised either, and maybe a few more from that line up. I am thinking about trying to go as I will be in the area around then. Razorlight, Dizzee, Scouting for girls and a few DJ sets sounds good for 15 pound a day

    • Yesterday was another brilliant day of music for me. Some highlights:  My Bloody Valentine - absolutely loved it! Maybe my main festival highlight. I felt submerged in the music with all the layers and distortion. It becomes hypnotic almost as it progresses. Not as loud as some thought it might be, but it didn’t need to be. The visuals added a lot too. During the noise part of You Made me Realise, I was basically in a trance staring at the visual tunnel or whatever it was on screen. Amazing experience. Little Simz - as she mentioned at the start, you’re guaranteed a good time with her. Great performance just like in 2022. Zero complaints. The little DJ section wasn't something I expected but was cool. Kneecap - I had a blast but at this point in the night I was at my most intoxicated let's say, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I'd have liked to!    The xx - The sound for this was perfectly balanced (at least where I was) and the band were great. Lots of talkers, but with the crowd size and being kind of far back, it's to be expected. Intro was one of my favourite moments this year. Big Thief - really good live performers. The lead singer has a lovely voice. This was a nice chill way to kick off the mordor gigs for me.
    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
    • Beartooth? Or are they a bit to shouty shouty
    • May   1. Josiah and The Bonnevilles - As Is 2. Kurt Vile - Philadelphia’s Been Good To Me 3. The Coral - 388
    • That would be my dream trio based on bands that have been rumoured
