Brave Sir Robin this is is truly an amazing feat. Thank you.

Are you going to be at efesters Wednesday night do? If so I would dearly like to buy you drinks.

As somebody said earlier there are so many bands that trigger the 'who the f is that and what do they sound like.....' question.

It's a sort of a wikiglastolineup..........thing!

Cheers

Now, not wanting to sully the great work done by Richard, whose Glasto playlists I have followed since 2011 and are brilliant....

The only thing that doesn't seem to exist is a playlist per stage.

Sometimes I find I just want to go through artists of a particular stage when planning who to go and see.

SO, and with no disrespect to the mighty playlist already on offer, I am in the process of creating STAGE-SPECIFIC playlists. A little side-project to the main daddy, if you will!

Feel free to follow, add to them etc, at:

Pyramid:

Other:

West Holts:

The Park:

John Peel:

More to come.

Brilliant effort Brave Sir Robin, you are a legend. Was meaning to do something like this myself so you've saved me a hell of a lot of effort.

Couple of minutes listening and I've discovered that I really like Crystal Fighters who I'd never heard of before. Also always liked Paper Planes by M.I.A but never knew who it was actually by, though now I've made that discovery I'm not sure I like much else by them/her.

Also think in my head I'd somehow confused Metronomy and Pendulum. Metronomy sound like they could be quite interesting (and much more chilled than Pendelum).

Jungle also getting added to my potential bands to see list.

The only thing with really delving into the line up is when the times are announced you discover half the things you've fallen in love with clash.

Good idea Stu. I tried something similar last year, doing genre specific playlists, but keeping them updated as well as the main list was just too much.

I've removed Gong and Eat Static, and added Preatures, System 7, Detroit Swindle to Glasto 2014 and updated Black Keys.

Wow system 7 are playing? how did I miss that.cool. any idea where and when?

Cheers ew*nkenobi!

Great to hear you're finding new bands through it. I really like the Crystal Fighters tracks on there, which are of course the ones they play most, perfect festival fare, but they also have some more dancey stuff which is less good.

As for M.I.A., rapping over a Clash sample sounds great but I don't like the rest of her stuff either. And I can't stand Metronomy (or Pendulum!) Jungle do sound good.

I got a message from someone saying they'd got it from the horse's mouth. It makes sense and I have no reason to disbelieve them. Not the Glade apparently (although Gong cancelling could change that), otherwise don't know.

Added latest self-confirmations Normski, A Guy Called Gerald, Mr Scruff, Sultan of the Disco, Billy Rowan, DJs Steffi and Virginia to Glasto 2014.

Also checked and updated all the Pyramid acts, new tracks for Kasabian, Lily Allen, Ed Sheeran, Rodrigo y Gabriela, the 1975, and the War on Drugs.

Over 600 followers now, which gives me a geeky sense of pride :)

    • Would you decide to go once more I recommend to queu up at the official freenow taxi line. It might take 15 min or so but they are not ripping you off. Even at 3 or 4 in the night it costed us about 25eur to the city center.
    • How do you mean? Better as a hotel/ festival combo?   I've done rock am ring at both sites.....unpopular opinion I much preferred the mending site and really didn't like the long and narrow main stage at RaR.
    • Yesterday was another brilliant day of music for me. Some highlights:  My Bloody Valentine - absolutely loved it! Maybe my main festival highlight. I felt submerged in the music with all the layers and distortion. It becomes hypnotic almost as it progresses. Not as loud as some thought it might be, but it didn’t need to be. The visuals added a lot too. During the noise part of You Made me Realise, I was basically in a trance staring at the visual tunnel or whatever it was on screen. Amazing experience. Little Simz - as she mentioned at the start, you’re guaranteed a good time with her. Great performance just like in 2022. Zero complaints. The little DJ section wasn't something I expected but was cool. Kneecap - I had a blast but at this point in the night I was at my most intoxicated let's say, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I'd have liked to!    The xx - The sound for this was perfectly balanced (at least where I was) and the band were great. Lots of talkers, but with the crowd size and being kind of far back, it's to be expected. Intro was one of my favourite moments this year. Big Thief - really good live performers. The lead singer has a lovely voice. This was a nice chill way to kick off the mordor gigs for me.
    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
