SOAD not brought out any new material since they last headlined, they only headlined before on the back of the big reunion, them subbing at R&L proves they are only sub status now

NIN could of headlined on the back of them getting back together, but them subbing to biffy this year shows that they wouldnt be seen as a strong headliner next year

tbh i think NIN would be more likely to headline 2nd stage than sub, and why wouldnt SOAD sub? theyre subbing R&L and im sure they would sub if download had booked a bigger band to headline, dont get me wrong theyre one of my favourite bands, but ive seen them headline download 2 years ago, and ill be seeing them at leeds, so next year would be too soon for me, my prediction/wishlist is my opinion, and thats what id like lol

Can't see Download shrinking their (already small) pool of headliners by bumping SOAD down to sub status. Reading and Download have different targe audiences, SOAD are more appealing to Download's, so command a headline slot.

    • Ah, that is interesting and ruins my theory a bit!!   I think my point just about holds though, and coming full circle on this discussion, being a sizable band such as Muse and not being able to sell out two O2 dates very quickly or at all doesn’t fill me with confidence that they be able to do a decent job selling a stadium tour…although maybe if Muse do something about their pricing, maybe they can!
    • I’ve said it elsewhere too but Emily Eavis said a 2028 headliner was booked, to me that’s only going to be someone the size of Oasis or Taylor Swift
    • Christ didn't even see that!
    • It does feel very bland. It would certainly spell another year (my third, I think) away from Pyramid headliners for me. That doesn't mean they aren't worthy, though. I don't follow what any of them are up to, as it isn't my thing. Good luck to them.   You would think coming off a fallow year, they would want one big hitter. 'Big hitter' is obviously open to debate, but that was/is Madonna. Let's have it right. The eggs have gone in that basket, and it seems (as far the rumours go) that it's blown up. So now you're left with another plan B/replacement headliner.   I'm still of the opinion that Oasis will do it, before the Oasis thing is all said and done. Probably 2028, if they can come to an agreement. It may transpire that 2027 is bland (or at least to some of us), and 2028 is a bit... wild.   Again, though, none of us categorically know ANY of the headliners, as it stands.
    • Second go.....    Still f**king fantastic - Well done WIlliam Orbit -  Bugman & Trimm Trabb mega tracks - No Distance Left To Run hauntingly Beautiful
