Buying gear for a night out/festival.............legally wrong.

Buying into a pedo website............legally and morally wrong.

You cant compare the two.

I get it from a mate in my local. Neither of us touch any kids in the process.

I never knew popping a pill on a Friday night to have a good time was equal to fingerbanging a minor in the scale of wrong doing , thanks for educating me.

Well you do think being a pedo and taking recreational drugs by comparison are as bad as each other, dont you ?

And therefore you should presume him innocent until proven otherwise, surely?

That's the whole point. He's not innocent, is he?

The offence he's guilty of, while it doesn't have to mean he's guilty of having a personal interest (rather than a book interest, if you get what I'm meaning) in images of child abuse, does suggest that he's likely to have. After all, how many others who paid for access to that website are we also to deem not guilty of wanting to look at the images behind the paywall?

There's more than enough there to cast reasonable suspicion on him. Unless there's solid evidence to prove he doesn't have a different interest to what he claimed or to prove that the interest was only what he claimed, I feel on comfortable ground to keep that suspicion about him.

At the end of the day, I reckon a good way to work is this: would you be happy to leave your children (at any age) with him?

I wouldn't. That's not because I believe him guilty, but because there's decent reasons to not expose yourself (or more importantly, your children) to the possibility that he might be guilty.

would you leave your kids with anyone you don't know?

Before I'd leave them with Pete, yes.

There'd be no reason to have suspicions about those people I don't know. There is a reason to have suspicions about Pete.

(ha! an un-obsticating answer worthy of your obsticating question :P).
