Nice to see the thread getting back on topic. Anyway, here's my tuppence worth.

Resealable food bags, especially if it rains. I take them to every festival, to store wallet/ticket, phone, wet wipes when walking around. Stops things you need to keep dry getting wet, and prevents wet wipes drying out in your pocket/bag.

Its all about a state of mind mate. I rarely eat much at festivals, coupled with excessive alcohol means no movements were needed. Was in no pain at all throughout the festival - until the crucial moment came of course. That was a pain I have never experienced before. Wow.

Just the smell of the loo's sends me sick, so try to avoid as much as possible. If I go early on, it usually opens the flood gates - so to speak.

Obviously its probably not the best for me, but usually try and detox and some healthy living when I get home sorts me out.

Pooing at Glastonbury is actually one of the things I look forward too. It's the only time of year when I get to feel a nice breeze around my legs as I go about getting rid of yesterday's waste. It's also a nice opportunity to catch your breath and have five minutes peace. I also find it a convenient time to read the q daily (or whatever it is now) and the program.

I always end up with some form of glastoenteritis at festivals (damn IBS) so not going for days on end is not an option. I just get on with it though, nothing else you can do. And yes I second the immodium, although cheap own-brand ones do the job just the same.

I've read The Guardian in the long drops before after they've just been cleaned. The day after that relentless kiddie fiddler Michael Jackson died.

There is a certain longdrop technique that needs to be adhered to however.

For blokes, its very important to keep one hand on old captain winky at all times. You don't want him flapping forward like a speared haddock and tapping off the front wall of the longdrops. An unimaginable amount of no. You're dicing with death there. The odds of survival would be better going in commando on Ulrika Jonssen.

Panicking is the worst thing you can do. Take your time, accept your surroundings and work within their confines.
