Still standing available as well

I have a lot of friends who really want to go but don't want to pay out that much money just before christmas for a gig that is still almost a year away. I suspect it will eventually sell out as the time gets nearer but for a lot of people its a fairly lousy time to ask them to shell out the best part of £80 for an event so far away.

TicketMaster still appear to have Tier 1 tickets (as well as some Tier 5 ones).

Anyone know why the Gigantic site were selling last night? I'm not complaining, would have been hard getting online this morning what with work getting in the way.

I am still undecided at the prices to. (Partly as I brought Muse tickets this morning)....Might if they are still around next pay day and get them then.

I know he sold out the arena's last time, but could it be that it's mostly to types who once they've seen, don't have the need to bother again?

Well I first started seeing Floyd in 1971 { The Roundhouse - Chalk Farm } and have been lucky to have caught their bigger shows as well including Earls Court in 1973 and loads of other shows including The Wall In Berlin Concert { 1990 }

even when they split I was not bothered as it gave even more chances to see them .

I was only 1 when you were watching the full floyd line up....I can remember the first time I ever listened to floyd when my cousin bought the wall when it was released.I was still to young to appreciate it really. My first ever proper gig was at wembley in 1988 lacking RW by then saw them in paris in 89 then the pulse tour at earls court I've seen RW at hyde park then at earls court both times I think were dsom with other tracks to start. I've got a standing ticket for wembley, I'm 6'2" so I don't have a problem with not seeing anything.

I think don't think floyd will ever tour again without richard wright, is Gilmour still doing live stuff on his own?

There was a TV program a few months ago about this. Apparently gig promoters sell tickets to "fans'" ticket exchange websites in exchange for .....over 90% of the profit. The website then lists the tickets as if they are being sold by Joe Public. Dunno if this is still happening (disclaimer..) but the companies featured on the programme were viagogo and I think seatwave.

Good to see that a certain bunch of well known scumbag touts has lost their final appeal in the RFU case. It will be very interesting to see what happens in the future ... but I doubt it will make that much difference in most instances sad.png I see a few tix for Rog are already on good old ebay despite genuine tix at genuine prices for genuine fans still being available !

But as for Rog@Wembley, arrrggghhh ... sell out dammit and stop bloody tempting me !!!!

Much as I'm a huge fan of Mr.Waters in general and I'd really love to go to this, I positively hate (the new) Wembley as a gig venue due to the most appalling sound plus it seems to be an even greater rip-off in almost all respects than just about every other venue into the 'bargain'. Apart from that I've seen good old Rog every time he's been around in recent years and I bagged truly excellent seats for the O2 Wall gig with Mr.Gilmour in attendance in particular so basically, although *very* reluctantly it has to be said, I've managed to give the Wembley gig a miss so far. However, there are still good tix out there tempting me like crazy to reconsider ... resistance could possibly be futile and all that laugh.png If only money were no object sad.png

Anyways, the do$h that I haven't really got available is currently winging it's way to a Pete rather than a Rog at the mo ... pretty good tickets to enjoy Mr.Gabriel at the O2 next October have been well and truly in the bag since much earlier today and the hotel is already booked biggrin.png Haven't had the pleasure of seeing him since "Up" in 2003 at the NEC so I'm definately well up (tongue.png) for a full rendition of "So" along with no doubt plenty of other damn fine stuff !

... wanders off to procure a most excellent shiny new calendar to write the date on

I have a plan at http://www.wbc-team.co.uk/waters1.jpg

so out of interest were you aware that a presale had gone on ?

buying direct in the presale means that you don't know where it will be but its likely to be somewhere in section 102-103, 121, 124-125, 142-143 Rows 4-44

there is still seating tickets up for grabs at face value.

Hope you enjoy the show - I was lucky as I had already been though the process the last time he was here so I was confident I would be able to get my ticket this time { even although I wont actually see the ticket until the night of the show }

So having read the whole thread, the last several pages being about the Wembley gig and very over-priced tickets, does anyone actually think he'll play Glasto? He was utterly marvellous last time he was there. How about people making percentage chance he'll be there predictions? I'll go for about 20%. Or am I being stupid and his tour dates make it impossible already?!

No mate I wasn't aware of the presale, it was only by chance that I noticed the gig when reading the efestivals newsletter. I think I was given the option of sections 501 522 & 525.

I've not seen Roger Waters or Pink Floyd live before, nor have I been to Wembley so hopefully this will be something that I'll remember for a long time.

Looking at some of the clips on here, It looks fantastic... I can't wait! biggrin.png

I saved your pic earlier so I could show my cousin where we're sat & it'll come in useful too for future gigs. Cheers for the heads up about the presale, I'll be more savvy now next time. biggrin.pngbiggrin.png

I would go for very very slim. ~0.05%

The whole impracticality of trying to shoehorn the wall stage show onto the pyramid stage just makes it seem impossible to do. He needs over 2 hours for the show itself, and probably a day to set the thing up.

If on the pyramid he would have to play a different set, which maybe he would, but I can't see him rehearsing a whole different set just for glasto.

Thanks for the info. It seems to make it a possible warm-up show, albeit the show is already pretty well "warmed up". You clearly know a lot more about him than me so what's your percentage prediction that he plays? I'm revising mine to 25% on account of the tour dates.

  • 2 weeks later...

of course when I started seeing Floyd there was no handy way to get information just by a click of a mouse so it meant many hours checking out music papers - its remarkable that I did not miss any tours at least in the UK.

I know I was not aware about the 1990 Berlin gig http://en.wikipedia...._Live_in_Berlin

until the UK ticket allocation had been sold out but lucky enough I have friends in Holland and for some reason the actual sale in Holland was not taking place to the following week so they were able to snap them up and a added bonus was the two Dutch guys that went with me could speak German.Sadly my mate { who is Scottish but is resident in Amsterdam } who bought the tickets could not actually attend himself due to a change of German law { he had a outstanding German warrant so on paper he would have been arrested going over the border } - by sods law we never got stopped there or back so he could have been with us { but lucky enough Dutch Cable { god knows what its called all i know is it was a pay channel } showed the whole concert live without commercial so he was happy }

Even although that was over twenty years ago I can still recall the whole trip - we drove there and for some odd reason there was no official punter parking but we discovered that we could park on the street in East Berlin for free - I was very suspicious because it was a massive road which had space for a good thirty coaches - if I was there on my own I would not have risked it as there is no way I could read the parking plates but as they could read German they could see it was free - anyway we parked went to the concert - went to a east Berlin warehouse party and then the next day the car was just where we left it { with no stickers on it }

We found out later there had been punter parking - somewhere miles away and they were doing ' park and ride '

Many people we ran into who had tickets thought it was going to be a Pink Floyd Concert even although the ticket said Roger Waters - at first we explained to people that it was not Pink Floyd but after repeating ourselves so many times we just gave up.

Sure it was not a exact musical match to previous wall concerts but it really did not matter { even when the sound breakers went and he had to do a little jig in silence while they reset their computers }

Anyway next year will be a experience for you as there is very few films that can capture what its like .

Being a old hand I have had some great experiences at the old Wembley so it will be my very first time at the new Wembley.

---------

I and a few other WBC Mates are planning to have a drink up before the concert { time/place will not be settled until much closer to the time } so if you fancy it send me a pm and I will send you the details.

brian

ps - this has the whole show http://www.panicstre...eo/thewall.html
