A much under-rated band, overshadowed at the time by The Stones.  But great guitar work running all through this track.

I think Slade were a very under-rated band.   This is a Ten Years After classic but they do a creditable job.  I saw them do this live a few times and they were pretty good.

This track, one of my favourites shows they could write some pretty good tunes too.

Yes I think whilst Merry Christmas Everbody has made them some money it is not indicative of what a great band they are

I still rate Mark Knopfler as the finest guitarist this country has produced.

And on Skiffle I agree that it was the music that first inspired generations to pick up a guitar and have a go.  Lonnie Donnigan was a highly respected jazz man who began playing with bands like Chris Barber and Knopfler says he was the man who inspired him to take up the guitar.  Lonnie also recorded sessions with Van Morrison.

Fantastic band who are great live. Was gutted when I heard Stefan Cush had died a few weeks back. Had a lovely chat with him when they supported the Wonder Stuff in Leeds a few years ago.
