as far as I'm aware neither Elton nor Dolly have played a UK festival before, I wouldn't count last year's Tower Festival Headland as a proper festival. Dolly has no appearances announced for 2013 however, whereas Elton does - that same weekend.

Elton's playing in Germany on the 7th, so that would make it back to back dates if he headlined the Sunday at Bestival. Although he's playing in Leeds on the 4th & then Germany on the 5th, so evidently that doesn't seem to be a problem for him. Makes sense for it to be him, so yeah.

Elton John would be great. Never seen him and a set loaded with all the hits sounds like a nice way to end the weekend. Imagine the singalongs.

that's always a possibility.

But what Rob has said he's heard from their agent is the same as i've heard from other directions from within the DP camp. It's always possible that these are porkies, but there's nothing of any substance to suggest that they are.

On the Coachella front, over the past couple months some have been saying exactly what Rob da Bank said about them not touring in 2013, with some claiming that they were considering it months ago but won't be ready yet. As for the opposing faction, the current word from the "Daft Punk is playing, I swear. I know someone." crowd is that "Daft Punk wasn't going to play, but now they are." and it's a one-off. Well, two-off. That doesn't make sense to me, because why would an act like that finally make their long-awaited return and then disappear again?

He said on the other forums that he isn't spending much on the headliners, or doesn't want to. I don't think the headliners (unless it is elton) are gonna be too big.

I think Foals would sub (similar size to Two Door, The XX and Sigur Ros).

Suede, QOTSA and Elton would be decent, with maybe The Knife or someone playing Big Top against Elton
