2008 i remember (i think) glasvegas playing thursday afternoon and it was still on the right hand side (as you look at the stage) of the other stage field. 2009 i seem to remember it moving to where the leftfield tent had been for years (meeting point?) and maximo park playing mid afternoon, the crush to get within 100mtrs of the tent was the worst iv'e ever seen at glasto. After that i don't remember it being there, however i may be wrong :meeting:

  • Difficulty getting a ticket.

  • The inevitable "It's not as good as it used to be!" comments after each year.

  • That I don't run my own stage with an endless budget, and endless star attraction.

Other than these the festival is as close to perfect as I could ever imagine!

my main gripe is the lack of heavier acts on the bill. I know why they don't have heavy headliners and can understand their point of view. However I'd love to see some more ballsy metal or punk than we have at the moment. Someone like Deftones would be awesome. Or even System of a Down, they'd fit the bill so well. I hope after QOTSA last year they realize they can accommodate these acts with ease.

It's not the crashing. I don't think it did crash. Did it?

What annoyed me was being told "you are in a queue" after what seemed like an age of hitting F5, when it wasn't really a queue and you may as well have carried on hitting F5.

    • I really like the Cheap Thrills! I saw them at the Ruby Lounge in Manchester in January at one of Chris Hawkins' "Awesome Friends" nights (which i think is why I even got tickets as it wasn't listed as a Cheap Thrills show!). Very good live and some great songs. I would've gone Saturday if I'd planned ahead!
    • They also seem to be in a mission to break the US with their new major label and this latest LP   Mid afternoon, live streamed on Disney+ is arguably a much bigger gig than Kendal Calling, if they had to skip one
