3rd Headliner just confirmed

He'll have to eventually repeat bookings, maybe for the 10th anniversary in 2014. Getting Chemical Brothers/Underworld/Massive Attack/Beastie Boys/Kraftwerk, etc. That'd be good.

What about Plan B? Would be horrific, but may as well list him.

Oh god, and there's a gap in between August and the weekend after Bestival. Reckon they're most likely, unfortunately.

Funnily enough, the festival they're headlining is called "Low Cost" festival, which is probably why Placebo are playing. :sarcastic:

I'd still be surprised if it's Placebo. I imagine Sigur Ros would go down better as a Bestival headliner than Placebo, they're probably bigger nowadays as well. It'd be a strange booking in my eyes, but I wouldn't be particularly disappointed. If I wanted to see huge acts I'd go to other fests, I want to see a nice range of good bands and the various other stuff, and Placebo would add some variety and put on a cracking live show.

With a new album in the pipeline and on the back of their high-profile appearance at Glasto I'm surprised QOTSA aren't at any festivals this Summer, Bestival would be a good shout for their first headline slot.

    • I saw this just after it was posted yesterday, I barely paid attention to it. I didn't realise it had blown up in the way it has. I'm sure (kind of) that Sziget will be unaffected - it brings in billions of huf over a very short period. Its consumption, compared to the rest of Budapest, will be tiny in reality. That said, nothing wrong with encouraging people to use less energy whether it's now or in the future.
    • The eulogies are flooding in.   The list I've seen so far is Jenrick,  Hartley-Brewer, Hopkins, Lowe, Pearson   Tells you all you need to know about him...
