Totally seperate from the 2014 info yeah. We heard 38 on the Sunday. He said that it was considered to be shut down on Saturday.Actually, for what it's worth, I'm not replying publicly anymore. If you wanna chat more PM me but we're clogging the thread and it's not fair to the others.

Fair enough. I still think it would have been made wider knowledge but i couldn't care less if it's true or not. They were last year anyway. Bring on the blink crush....

If 38 people all got seriously badly injured at any event it would get reported.

It wouldn't. For starters there are injuries at fests every year and they're probably more serious than a few broken ribs. Not to mention there were probably a number of more interesting stories- drug overdoses/arrests etc.

Didn't somebody die at Reading/Leeds? I saw hardly anything on that so I don't see why media outlets would care about a few broken ribs if they don't care about a death..?

Yup, exactly http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/music/rockandpopmusic/10276835/Teenager-who-died-after-Reading-Festival-thought-to-have-died-of-rare-brain-disorder.html

That was reported by several media outlets, crowd problems are reported in the media(especially the festival media).

I don't tend to believe people when there's no evidence to back it up, then again I don't believe journalists full stop.

Technically she didn't die on site and therefore at the festival, but it still got reported.

38 broken ribs - which is a pretty fuckin serious injury - during the same acts set - I'm pretty sure wouldn't go ignored. NME would lap that shit up. So would BBC Newsbeat etc

But whatever.

Fair enough, I wasn't thinking of that girl, I thought there was a lad who had died, there was a thread about it on here after the fest, but it might have been rubbish, I can't remember very well

Can't remember either but don't think so - deaths usually get reported at fests thick and fast.

Weird how I was never aware of such a high injury rate in the arena nor were FMS or even the site manager...

As for the bull about the so called about to get cancelled, that's even more ridiculous nonsense.

But what were the problems you have stated there were?

Just some small issues with the crowd and movement around a couple of the toilet blocks in particular the ones at Alpha gate and Foxtrot gate but they were resolved fairly quickly.

Also a couple of concerns about tent capacity at times, but can't recall what acts it was, though was one in FR stage on the Friday.

Egress worked well with the new arena and campsite trackway layout but will be tweaked slightly for 2014.

Glad to know you followed me around at the festival and were in exactly the same place as me so knew that i am actually just making everything up for a laugh.... oh wait you wern't next to me. Do not call me a lair.

Sorry reading back more pages (alot of shite on this thread to get through), you were at Leeds?

If so, then no I wasn't there as I thought you meant Reading.

There certainly wasn't the issues you described there.

Leeds :D

As i have said (sorry to being this back up everyone :() I was perfectly fine with everything apart from simply the popularity of Eminem coupled with some real idiots ment that the front few rows where i was standing at least were in a dangerous way in between waiting for Eminem and him starting... also it was so rammed where i was that i couldnt get out.

I understand that in reading that C&S crowd were made to calm down/ they had to stop the set a few times and i think that was the only set in the entire weekend were such a thing happend so as i have said in earlier posts i dont think there is anything the festival could have done to make it much safer :D

    • I mean I think unless you are camped in a particular bit which apparently you just get no sleep i feel it would be better setup to travel in from a hotel each day and back. Ah there is so many downfalls to it for me, I think the Download main stage area is so much better and that's coming from me. If you're camped in green to go round all the time and out for lidl and even water is stupid!
    • Did you camp or go for a hotel? I looked into it briefly and seems easy enough to get back to Nuremberg.
