I might just blame the crowd to see if Matt has anything to say against it when it's about the crowd he's in. :P

But nah, it wasn't too exciting but we were only watching it on TV. Seemed really light as well, like it was in the middle of the day.

The sound on the BBC (as always) was awful but the band can't really complain about that. ;)

Their performances have definitely gotten worse as the tour's gone on. I think they've burned out at this point. I'll still go mental for them at Reading because I love their music but their performances aren't amazing at the moment.

I think they've lost a lot of their "cool" factor since they've tried to change their image. Not that that has any impact on their music but, y'know.

Personally I think they're a lot cooler now. Give me a leather jacket over trackie bottoms any day.

Although, the 3 AM song encore is bollocks,

yeah this does kinda suck

Nah, when they were just some lads from sheffield I felt like they were much cooler. As cliche as it sounds, they weren't trying to be something they aren't.

I think they had huge stage presence but the encore is boring. One for the road is good but not an encore song, I wanna be yours is boring and I still don't consider R U Mine a strong enough closer.

The encore simply does not work, After A Certain Romance I felt no guilt in going.

That's kinda weird. Did you dislike the new album that much? And how did you know what the encore was gonna be?

I researched alot of their setlists before titp and realised they were pretty much following the same formula.

After the whole crowd singing to my favourite monkeys song, I realised theres very little they could do to top that.

I like AM, but two okayish songs and a (good) but not as captivating as some other songs closer. It just kinda leaves the performance abit stale, even more so as before they really were on top form.

I guess the tables have turned and now i'm explaining to you guys how they were better in the crowd than on TV I guess. Whole crowd singalong for the whole thing!

Arctics were great at TITP, they really know how to put on a show now! Reading is going to be very very exciting!

Although, the 3 AM song encore is bollocks, I left after a certain romance.

I've spoken to one person who went to T, and they're an Arctic Monkeys fan (and not one that thinks they've turned rubbish), and she said they were shit.

The only person I've spoke to who went to T said Arctics were a fun act but they were the worst headliner of the weekend purely because the whole set felt too rehearsed. Which I think is a fair point.

The songs speak for themselves, so the set will always be enjoyable if you like the band but there's definitely a lack of spontaneity about their performances.

    • My wife works for a music company, they have an allocation already.  They run a ballot for it early next year.
    • This is my guess too.    2028 festival breaks the £400 barrier.
