Here come all the users who said it wouldn't, now claiming they knew it would.

Reading still has a strong audience, i just guess people don't rush to buy tickets anymore

I think most of us who don't resemble Homer Simpson are prepared to stand up and admit we made a bad guess. I'm certainly surprised.

It's even more shocking when you realise that only glastonbury and reading have sold out this year.

Very very surprising. Reading has beat T, V, Download, Sonisphere and IOW

Yes IOW did sell out but it was a few days before the festival. Reading has sold out just around 2 months before

Can't quite believe some people are suggesting biffy and green day here, no headliners play two years in a row, unless you're Calvin Harris at titp.

Who here suggested Green Day and Biffy to headline two years in a row?

A few people might have suggested the possibility of a secret set from either Biffy or Green Day, but I don't think anyone ever suggested that they'd headline two years in a row.

Noone on this thread is stupid enough to seriously suggest a headliner would do it twice in a row.

    • Audrey Hobert getting a lot of traction lately and new single on Friday. Wonder if she could be round next summer.
    • Think Pulp are optimistic, not in terms of size but just that they've been on the road (albeit not intensively) for 3 years in a row and it feels like EotR is the deliberate end of the cycle.   Would be fairly surprised if they're active next year.
    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
