They can't be perceived as racist if you actually know what you're talking about.

Making false allegations of racism is part of the problem.

They were seen to be racist by the guy that runs the forum.

If one of the likes of muzzy izzet posted that image you guys would be all over it. It's only because com was a big poster in this forum his getting so much slack.

He probably isn't racist, to give people the chance to accuse him of being one is very naive on his part.

Posted a meme of a gorilla and Kalusha said it was racist (which it wasn't), and then Com continued to post it after Kalusha said he was offended by it, so Neil banned him. Kalusha has since revealed he wasn't actually upset by it, he just said he was.

Haha you lot are insane, go nuts with the negative votes, I don't care.

The idiot was naught but a troll on the Beni thread. Everything he said was trying to stir up shit and be a straight up bellend. He was not responding to any questions or posting decent posts, he isn't even going to that festival. He was a being a dick and thought he was untouchable in this forum cause he had 7500 posts or whatever it was. Whatever you guys say, his original post was racist. I posted a picture of Tom Cruise with a ballbag on his head for a bit of banter as he said something that he deserved to be called a ballbag for. The best he could come back with was a Gorilla. I called it a bit racist, as it clearly was, and he got on his high horse and because he thought he was offending me and had one up on me he kept going with it. All I did was allow him to think he was genuinely upsetting me with his monkey jibes and his inner troll got the better of him. He kept going with the monkeys and his ban is justifiable.

I'm not going to pretend to not be happy with his ban, just like he was happy with the fact he was upsetting me with his racist taunts.

The fact I wasn't upset by an idiot on the internet being racist to me doesn't, mean it's ok to be racist.

Did that exile post aide anything to the discussion of the feed, regardless of whether it was relevant to the festival? Was it posted purely to stir people for no particular reason? Are you even going to the festival? Just a tad hypocritical.

Read the thread.

First time i said it was racist, then his mate chimed in and said it's not racist because I might not genuinely be a black person.

I then explained that I am and clarified that.

He then posted another picture of a gorilla

I then, stunned, said I could not believe how blatantly racist he was been. Even told him he was likely to get a ban for it.

He then did it again.

No matter how stupid you are, you cannot deny that continually posting pictures of gorillas at someone who is telling you not to do it, is racism. Even if I wasn't black, the only evidence he has to go off is the words on the thread which said I am. It was his choice to continue on with it.

It was purely to get at him, and him alone. Had he not already made it personal, I wouldn't be here. I only found that post by looking at his profile page.

I told him before, he posted the final gorilla picture that I looked forward to seeing his reaction to being banned after he told me he loved my reaction to his racist posts. I'm intrigued to find out how he is enjoying it as I knew he would come back with another account.

You quite clearly made it out to be a racist remark when it wasn't it. It is meme that isn't even racist but just uses a creepy looking Gorilla from a cereal box as apart of the meme

If I was a white guy he would not have posted that. There are plenty of memes and pictures on the internet that he could have come back with rather than a gorilla. The fact that he continually did it completely dispels your theory that it wasn't mean't to be racist.

1. He don't didn't know you were black

2. He would have stilled used the meme regardless of your colour because it is Com

3. Com is not racist, he is just an idiot

Except that meme was right for the situation, so that's why it was used. Fair enough loads of people don't know the background/context/meaning/whatever of meme's, but it was a pretty easy google and was explained to you multiple times.

It wasn't racist. It had nothing to do with likening black people to gorilla's, it's a totally different context to the Dani Alves situation.

As it go's, I thought Neil made the right decision to ban him & others as the thread was getting more & more farcical by the second (as is this one now...). Still wasn't racist though.

1. I explained to him after the first one that I am indeed black. Regardless if he believed it or not the fact was in front of him.

2. He shouldn't have because after the first time it was pointed out to him that it was been taken as a racist statement. Giving him the opportunity to say "hold up, that wasn't meant to be racist it's just a meme about rustling jimmies." I never meant for it to be racist" then drop it. That would have been the end of it. Instead he just continued with it.

3. Incorrect. He is a racist idiot.

I never intended coming in here and causing a ruckus, I will leave and won't come back to this thread. I was purely seeing what was going on with my old mate and it just so happened it was in this particular thread.

The fact that you don't want to believe it was racist is up to you. If he didn't continue doing it, I would have dropped it and nothing would have happened.

I'm off

To the guy on here with the name 'The Time' thank you for not jumping to a conclusion.

    • Same here, I kept trying to go on A View From My Seat to see if each block was worth it. So vague!
    • Ok, I’ve had time to process the experience now, so here is my review.   The good Barcelona - what a beautiful place! What lovely people! The city was like another headliner. Stayed in El Poblenou, and the bars, cafes and restaurants were perfect. Avalanches - Absolutely spectacular, euphoric set. Fantastic stage. Possibly enhanced by substances that I timed right, for a change. Added bonus that I don’t really remember the queue. The Cure - I’ve been a fan for 34 years, and never got round to seeing them, so this was a dream come true. The XX - The sound was exceptional. The lights and setlist perfect, giving each member their moment. Was really loud where I was standing (between the front and the sound desk), but i didn’t notice any chatters - even during the quieter moments. Also loved Men I Trust, .bd. , Big Thief, NewDad and Gorillaz. The food within Parc Del Fòrum was also a lot better than I was expecting.   The bad People talking non-stop throughout some of the sets, and shouting to be heard over the music. I had to move 3 times during Wet Leg just to be able to hear the band over the crowd. It’s probably an age thing, but I just don’t understand it. You’ve paid how much to watch these acts, and now you’re standing with your back to the stage, missing the music and ruining the experience for everyone else? Odd behaviour.   The weather apocalypse on Thursday. I genuinely thought I would be able to tough it out. I couldn’t. Left after Geese. The lack of communication from Primavera didn’t help.   Whilst it was lovely to be by the sea, and the sunsets were very pretty, the site is a bit…concrete-y, isn’t it? I kind of longed for some grass and trees. Often found ourselves standing on the steps by the Adidas yard by some bamboo. This was probably a subconscious need for some nature. The fact that some of the nature included cockroaches did not negatively affect the experience.   My daughter, for running away when she saw the drug dogs in the queue on Thursday, meaning that I lost her for the whole evening. She hid her stash under a bench, and it miraculously survived the storms.   Also, can someone explain the point in having a wristband, when you still have to show your ticket every time you enter and leave the site?   Finally, I would like to nominate myself as one of the bad things about this year’s Primabera. I should have done Primavera a lot better. It was my first one, so I’m still learning, but I think I left too early on the Thursday. Left after the Cure on Friday, so I would be full of energy on Saturday, and then barely made it to the end of Gorillaz anyway, meaning I missed Overmono, Skrillex, Skullcrusher, Kneecap, and a few more I would have liked to see.   All in all Amazing lineup. Decent food options. Cupra and Cupra Pulse stages were very impressive. Weather was perfect for 3 out of the 4 days i attended.   It was always likely to be a ‘one and done’ for me, but we had a blast, even if I am starting to get too old for all this.
    • That Wednesday Razzmatazz slot is one of the best/prime slots!
    • If they fancy chucking something together last knockings, i'm up for it! 😄 Got to get a cat sitter, but i'm 95% there
    • Yes, that's why I think Interpol would be a good fit for the Wednesday so that they don't take up a prime Mordor slot on the other days.
