Never really a fan of Kings of Leon anyway if I'm honest, my nan likes them more than I do, and plenty of people think Arctics and Kasabian are shit, nobody can win over everyone

No, but you can't deny they're incredibly popular.

The point is, bands can be just as popular without having to go down the 'becoming more accessible' route.

Although I will admit that that's not the case for most bands, and I was being pedantic

I really liked the latest BMTH album when I listened to it about a month ago, tried to listen to it last week and had to turn it off, it sounded awful.

Loved There is a Hell... and Sempiternal has only improved my opinion of a band that I thought were god awful after Count Your Blessings.

no because you went off on your own argument. People were saying its more accesible and they have become better musicians, which in their opinion is a valid argument because good music has nothing to do with how techincally capable you are. If you make an album with great songs in the minds of many who didnt like their old stuff - they have become better musicians for them.
