looking at bands from this years line up that could "step up" who do you think he's on about?

i'll guess at the likes of django django,of monsters and men, bastille and jake bugg who's profile have all become quite a bit bigger since this years fest

I agree with all of these, i thought Jake Bugg would be around 3rd on NME but IOW have him booked above the Maccabees, so who knows how high he could play now

I also have a growing concern that the Vaccines could be back to play 3rd, or even sub under Mumford and Sons

He's advertised above Maccabees, which obviously means festival promoters think he'll be a big draw next summer, but that poster doesn't necessarily reflect undercard positioning so I imagine he'll be 4th/5th, whereas The Maccabees are definitely 3rd.

Yup, next time Vaccines are back they'll be subbing, probably not next year though, off the back of a 3rd album wouldn't surprise me though

I think the biggest movers this year will be Alt-J (as we've seen) Django Django and Jake Bugg, and possibly Tribes (could they headline the FR?).

I'd like to see Twin Atlantic and Joy Formidable given bumps next year though, their sets were definitely within my top 5 of the fest

As much as I love them and went to see them this year on the NME stage (my 6th time seeing them in 2 years! And at least twice next year :D) I don't really understand why The Joy Formidable played this year. Should've left it and got a bump on the back of the new album imo.

I expect Jake Bugg, Of Monsters And Men, Twin Atlantic to be mid/lower mid on main, maybe 5th/6th/7th down respectively. Palma Violets mid NME. Djangp Django maybe high NME on Alt-J day, or could headline one of the days on the new Dance Stage depending on what sort of direction they're going in with it (I see them as kinda similar to Metronomy who did it this year).

As yet unmentioned: I think Two Door Cinema Club will play 3rd main. Maybe Spector low main too.

you've got to be doing something right is Dave Grohl is going round requesting you on the undercard tongue.png

They're one of the best live bands I've seen, hope their new album takes off & they get a high mainstage slot in the next couple of years
