They're shows are still selling well and they're fairly popular with the young crowd, they're a good live act tbf and I know a lot of metal fans despise them i'm shocked they've never headlined any festivals here.

Seems like the cool thing to do these days is hate Nickelback for no reason whatsoever, fair enough if you dont like their music but the amount of hate they get is ridiculous they arent even that bad

I'd take Nickelback headlining. They get so much stick when there is a whole bunch of much worse bands out there. They have a lot of well known songs, have sold a crap load of records and are supposed to be a quality live band. I'm not a massive fan granted, but I'd go and watch them. It'd make a change from having bands headline a year or two after they've whored themselves out to every other festival around.

I don't think that Nickelback have any kind of conenction with any of the R&L target audience, young or old. It would be a disasterous and stupid booking.
