Only problem with that is the punter does not book the bands. I dont think they would tell thom yorke to go away if he offered his services....although no on knows(get it in before you tourette).

Third on main, maybe fourth. Although it's considered an equal/lower spot tent headliners generally have more of a buzz or current excitement about them (popular with the kids or reforming) than pretty big but standard and expected touring bands like Deftones/Interpol/Yeah Yeah Yeahs/Kaiser Chiefs/Placebo who will usually be used to pad out the late evening on the main stage. I think Editors will fall into the latter category as bands like that generally wouldn't offer much of a counter or alternative to a main stage headliner (ie they aren't commercial indie enough to counter a heavy headliner, heavy enough to counter a commercial indie one, new and cool enough to counter an old headliner, etc.) to headline the NME.

Although that's probably a bollocks theory, so expect to see Editors and Yeah yeah Yeahs headlining the tent along with Alt-J :P

I'm hoping my hopeful prediction of

Biffy / SOAD / Eminem comes true. It's looking 2008ish all over again.

Had already agreed to go on holiday with my lass and agreed that there would be no festivals, unless SOAD were headlining anywhere. Day ticket is do-able but if Biffy were headlining also it'd have to be a day ticket.

I've tried so hard to get into Editors but just can't do it. Three or four times I've put their records on my fruit-themed portable MP3 player but after a few listens just wiped them off. I like the concept of them but just can't get excited about the majority of their stuff.

Yeah I do like Editors and most of the 2000's indie scene but collectively their stock has fallen and if they are to keep playing festivals they should probably switch to bigger spots at smaller festivals (like Franz Ferdinand, Razorlight) in UK rather than sliding down lineups (like Darkness, Kaiser Chiefs).

    • This!   Biffy Clyro I don't think would ever get asked, I just don't think it us their scene and it certainly wouldn't be a wise move for them after how the Finsbury Park show went. If they ever had a chance of regaining or staying a bit higher up taking Slam Dunk isn't how you do it. For the cost of it now I think being into the main headliner does make a difference though.
    • Sabrina I actually think is alright, but as an overall thing including Fontaines in the mix it does look very boring.
    • I went to the O2 show as had cheap NHS tickets. I did love the whole Machine Gun Kelly vs MGK Emo/Pop Punk stuff amusing and could see that show going down well. I thought it was so funny watching the video skits of a die hard old skool fan gradually morphing in to an Emo Kid. That show with less old Machine Gun Kelly tunes and more MGK Pop-Punk would be ace.   Pair him against a heavy act on the other stage and jobs a goodun,
    • Not sure if this is allowed, but I have an additional daily ticket which I’m willing to sell for a heavily reduced price. If you, or someone you know wants to go that day, but wouldn’t for the original price, let me know.    Edit: It’s for Friday
    • Couple of standing tickets left on ticketmaster if anyone is still trying
