Eminem is a hard enough sell, but Eminem and Linkin Park? You could give every attendee 100 crates of Skol with a list of of alternative uses so you didn't have to drink it, and it wouldn't sell.

Agree with Eminem, Arctic Monkeys and Blur headlining and Biffy and Bloc Party subbing, don't think Mumford will play though, could see them headlining V or Glastonbury. Think most people would choose Arctics or Blur over them as a headliner and getting them to sub would be incredibly hard now with them headlining T.

I don't think Biffy were headliners when they were booked but might be seen as one now. This might sound weird but surely some of the main bands are booked even before the festival the year before. Melvin said in an interview at the festival that he didn't think Biffy were headliners yet, I guess that could mean he's got them subbing as it would look pretty stupid on his part if they were headlining but they're also a band which are totally suited to Reading Festival. I also think the fact that they're not headlining TITP shows that they're not viewed as headliners yet. Their arena tour will also mean people will be less likely to want to see them.

They would be a very strong sub though, and would get a great crowd, even if they were put on before Eminem.

Not really, their music may have worsened but their live performance hasn't. They would play all their old stuff at Reading anyway.
