Well, I mean, I think you can expect, em, you certainly can expect guitars, you can certainly, it's definitely all locked down, em, I had hope that I would announce one today, but, just paperwork prevents that and I certainly would anticipate that at least one of them will be announced by Christmas. Em, and you know there is people that have headlined reading and Leeds before and there's people whoe definitely haven't headlined reading and Leeds before, that's what reading and Leeds does, it provides the absolute foundations so that you've got this great show, and it also provides opportunities for bands to step up and become headliners in their own right, and that's what 2013 will be offering.

All of Linkin park, eminem and blur have headlined before which contradicts the statement from Melvin benn that it has act(s) that have definately not headlined before.

I wouldnt read too much into that interview. I dont think he meant this year, just that he can have bands who have headlined before or bring in new acts.

Yeah I've seen that. I always thought that was him talking about the bill as a whole. "People who've headlined" and "people who haven't headlined" surely means more than one act from each of those pools, so it can't just be about the headliners. And the bit about providing foundations for stepping up is definitely about the bill as a whole.

Yeah I know it happens almost every year, but people keep saying that there'll be one previous headliner, one stepping up, and one who's headlined elsewhere, just because Melvin's said it in that Kerrang! interview. Whereas I don't think he's said that at all.

He used the word people though, not acts so that's why he was talking in plural. This along with normal booking of acts that haven't headlined before, and an NME interview saying all have played before in some capacity leads to believe there will be a headliner who hasn't headlined before.

I understand your point, and people have mutated what was said in the interview into something completely different. I said that earlier today when I posted that directly from the interview.

I don't get why, if they are playing Nirvana songs, they would get Macca to sing. Just why? At least get somebody who could pull off singing Kurt's lyrics. Liam Gallagher would have been a better fit imo.
