So lets sum up Steve Keans season then.

- Took over a club mid table and got them relegated.

- Got banned for 18 months for drink driving.

- Is getting sued by Sam Allardyce for calling him a "a fucking crook".

- Is getting sacked by Blackburn (probably) in the next day or so.

Not a bad first season in first team management! :sarcastic:

And here it is. Dalglish steps down.

I was sat in the dentist yesterday, so picked up the rag on the table - the hate mail I think - and read an interesting article regarding the FFP rules.

It was looking at Germany, and "exploding the myth" that no Bundesleig club has ever gone bust. It listed all the clubs who went bust when in lower leagues but whose debts were accumulated when in the big league, but also listed all the clubs who have been bailed out in some way (normally a local council), plus listed all the perks associated with clubs (free travel, for example) which are a benefit for the club but outside the FFP measures.

It's worth a read if you can track it down.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-2143867/German-football-efficiency-The-Bundesliga-Martin-Samuel.html This one? It's an interesting read for sure....can't say I really get his whole point. It just seems a bit of a pointless rant saying, no other system is perfect so English football should stick to the status quo of how we run it.

yeah, think that's it.

I took his point as being that the FFP rules are unfair to English clubs, because they don't get the back-door subsidies that German clubs do.

But anyway, it was good to read something that goes against the more-normal "everything is wonderful ion German football" stuff that's around.

While I agree liverpools league placement is not acceptable, if you get rid of kenny the question is who next? Martinez may be flavour of the month but why judge on the final third of the season and not the first one. I feel Martinez needs to do it at a bigger mid table club before getting the liverpool job. I cant see liverpool getting 4th next year, so Im struggling to see a huge benefit in sacking kenny and his backroom staff and paying someone else. I say give kenny untill december and see if progress is made,

I dont know, while Rooney, Cole and Hart look a class above their international teammates. I think Barry, Milner, Lescott etc hold their own with the rest. I used to think these 3 werent good enough for city but now think they are good squad players. Not everyone can be an aguero or a silva. I would personally keep all the england players from the current city squad apart from johnson who is clearly not good enough.

My problem with Martinez is this... why do Wigan play awfully for 2/3s of a season then turn up at the right time? Not knocking the bloke, I like him. But sure this season isn't the first time it's happened.

Don't want a flavour of the month either. Let's keep some stability this summer after the last couple of years, attempt to progress and go from there.

I'd keep Kenny this summer personally. There's enough upheaval as it is currently.

If we had to get someone I'd like Rafa back but that won't happen I don't think. Capello wants a job in England though and we could do a lot worse than him.

The question would be who would go to liverpool.

LIverpool wonderful club, wonderful tradition but not a cl club and with the squad they have not likely to either. Thats without even challenging for the title where they are a milion miles away.

Yep. It would have to be somebody who wanted a project. Rafa would want it. Apparently the owners wanted AVB in the summer when they appointed Kenny on the short term, but then he did well. Would AVB really want to take a job on in England again though after the shit he took? Capello miiiiiiiiight at a push.

Otherwise I guess you have to look abroad to a promising manager in Spain. Someone who might think they've got more chance of competing with some cash over here than they do against Barca and Real's monopoly.

Someone like brendan rogers would be a good shout, butperhaps needs another season at swansea. Theres plennty of good young managers with fresh ideas out there. Does my head in when its the same old managers gettign sacked and then get another prem job like mcleish, mccarthy, hughes etc etc.

    • So we've signed a Horny Czech, and Bruno's turned up the training camp instead of doing Isak's nonsense.   Still not sure I believe Bruno's staying mind, but glad he's not doing the sh*t Arsenal are asking him to do to lower the price. If they want him they can stump up.   My suspicion is that whichever of Madrid/Man City don't start next season with Rodri will go for Bruno, and one of them will come in while Arsenal have f**ked about trying to get him cheap, which while I absolutely want to keep him, would still be good enough bants and a nice middle finger that I wouldn't mind it so much. I just wish we'd report Arsenal for tapping up.   If rumours are to be believed, we're after 2 more defensive signings, and an attacking player, on top of a replacement if Bruno leaves, having already signed a LW, 2 CMs, a GK, and some youth players. Huge churn, but apart from a couple of Bazou Toure's games for Ivory Coast at the world cup, I've not seen any of them play. Over 2 summers we've basically changed our entire team aside from the CBs.
    • I think the level of headliners Bloodstock get is varied    There's been bands who have gone on to play Download in quite a low spot like Meshuggah, Behemoth, Opeth etc.    Then they've had years like 2025 where you can argue that all three headliners are download main stage sub level    Knocked Loose right now i'd argue are 3rd down on main/opus headliner level while EC and FFDP are borderline main stage sub
