From the sun today "'Harry Birthday to you, Harry Birthday to you, we've had enough of Psycho, so over to you!'. Im not fan of either as managers, but I think thats incredibly disrespectful to a man who gave everything for his country despite his limitatations as a player. Its amazing (not surprising) that the london media seem offended that there should be more than 1 person considered for the national job and are demanding an Arry coronation. The way they go on you would think he has the managerial track record of jose or ancelotti, fact is he has won as much as Joe Royle despite managing for years and at lest when JR won the FA cup he played a premiership side in the final and played man u with a keeper in goal not rio ferdinand. Arrys record is nowhere near good enough to demand a coronation, although his london media arse licking record is up with the best of them.

Regarding Chelski....

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Bottom 5 teams just can't get a win at the moment can they? I think it'll be a very low points total to be safe this year.

Also... fucking RVP. Why is he so good?

(I had a bet on a 'Pool draw and was sulking until WBA scored)

Brilliant set of results for us today. Played poorly but got the points, rare for that to happen with us. Szczesney had a superb game, looks like he's going to be a real top keeper. And RVP I fricking love you :)

Despite Arsenals flaws (and they have many) what sets them apart is the 2 most influential men at the club RVP and Arsene Wenger are of a much higher standard than the equivalents at their champions league rivals. I wouldnt actually put it beyond them catching spurs, as i feel spurs are due a poor run of form.

Watching motd now has confirmed what I thought previously. Carragher has had a great career for someone of his ability. However this season he looks even slower and more plodding.

RVP is a great player and a better defender may not have stopped his goals, but they could have made it a lot more difficult.

but I would agree that it will be arsenal and spurs in 3rd/4th place, just unsure which way.

Because chelsea are tripe this season generally, and liverpool and there fans think there season is dont and dusted winning the carling cup. I can actully see some of the clubs below liverpool catching them for 6th place. I think it will finish up like this.

man city

man utd

arsenal

spurs

newcastle

chelsea

liverpool or stoke/everton

He shouldn't play much now. Coates needs to be blooded in. Fourth place is too far away but its time to build for next season with players who are gonna be our future. Today's game proved again the thin line between being brilliant and average, we need to make the most of our young talents now so we can do better next season.

Nah, although I wouldn't rule us out catching 5th/6th. To be honest we're not good enough for the CL yet. Not clinical enough for sure. I'd take another season in the Europa (which we have) and I'd go full guns blazing for the FA Cup.

SHOLAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

However shit he may be for the majority of a season, he scores against Sunderland, and we love him for it.

Some observations:

Sunderland's play all goes through Sessegnon, they're going to miss him the next 3 games.

Ben Arfa is an amazing amazing talent, but his decision-making isn't the best. If he learns when to play it simple, he could be world-class, but he's too desperate to do something amazing every time.

We should have had 2 of our 5 penalty shouts, Mignolet saved Ba's through encroachment, Bendtner's pen was excellent, right to be given (even though tugging's normally ignored), and deserved at the time.

Williamson isn't good enough to be our 2nd centre-back if we want to move onto higher things, and probably not to be our 3rd. Good enough as cover for now, but we need someone better providing competition for Steven Taylor. Taylor can finish easy chances and headers as well.

Ryan Taylor isn't good enough in any position, however good his set pieces and crosses are.

When defending, all our midfielders retreat too far. It was OK first half of the season when we were using Best or Ameobi to lump a clearance to so they could hold up the ball, but with better players we need to have better play.

Avb was the right man at the wrong time. Whoever went in this season was destined to fail due to the short term planning of previous managers, as a result of the short term vision of the owner. Asking avb to change the culture of an aging squad and be successful was unrealistic. To be fair avb knew what he was stepping into and people can say he didn't have to take the job, however realistically the contract has set him for life and was too good to turn down.

I was half watching sky before and thought I heard that chelsea only have 2 points less than last season, don't know if this is right.

Despite having to go to a service station west of Cardiff and hang around for an hour to pick upy ticket...I thoroughly enjoyed today. Probably got a bit lucky and got Cardiff at a good time...still you can only beat what's put in front if you.

Noble ran the game I thought. Ringo scored and with his right foot - after that it was always going to be our day.

Not impressed with the new ground, though at least it's still close to centre.

    • Remain self-imposed on not going north of a hundred, but... we're getting to the point now where the starting gun will be above that for some acts.
    • I'm finding the lower line up a little impenetrable this year   Any thoughts on heavier bands a la Slift a few years ago?
    • Will be curious to see how most of those shows sell. Surprised they're playing Leeds and Manchester - much as I am with Megadeth. (Not complaining, mind you.)
