they tried to get Kanye to sub Coldplay (i believe) but it never came to fruition (more than likely, yeah, because of his ego)

Neil's info on both Kanye and The Strokes had them as Pyramid headliners and that's it. i guess the info could've been a bit wrong (Kanye has supported the Stones at their own shows so it makes sense) but i can't see him taking sub

the thing with Roger Walters is, i can imagine a similar situation to The Stone Roses at Coachella / Ben Howard at the Brits, with Twitter filling up with 'Who the fuck is Roger Waters?' tweets. it's not going to happen, but if it did i'm sure a lot of the younger generation would have question marks over their heads

dead serious. do you seriously think a lot of average festival goers (baring in mind the demographic of festival goers has changed from 'mostly alternative types' to 'fucking everybody' in the past few years) would know who he is removed from Pink Floyd? my sister and all of her friends scoffed at The Rolling Stones headlining. they wouldn't have a clue who Roger Waters was, a long with a lot of people (not saying my sister and friends are a good example because they're idiots, but there you go)

as for the Kanye thing, i believe the organisers had their eyes on him to sub Coldplay, but it never panned out, so they moved Elbow from subbing U2 to sub Coldplay and drafted in Morrissey to sub U2

Someone asked her on twitter about chances of Daft Punk and Arcade Fire playing (same tweet) and she replied directly to that person saying something like "doesn't seem likely".

I take these sorts of things with a pinch of salt though. And she didn't even say "no".

This is just because I really want AF there, but I expect them to play in 2014 now.

i'm not downplaying his artistic merit, or merit as a headliner. he'd make an amazing headliner. i'm just doubting the youth of today, especially (as i said) with EVERYBODY jumping on the bandwagon of festivals these days. maybe that doesn't matter to the organisers? i'm not sure. i'm sure a lot of the young'uns didn't know who Neil Young was to be fair

it ain't gonna happen anyway as has been said, he doesn't do festivals

    • This is great. Friday and Saturday main are 🔥   If they do end up touring next year I could see a trio of Blink, Deftones & Maiden working quite well.

    • True and given how rapidly it fell apart for Piastri in the final third of last season, we do have precedents for it going wrong.   Although Antonelli did a brilliant effort to eke out Monaco pole yesterday against Verstappen while Russell's down in 6th. I know Russell was unlucky in China and Japan but in the last few weeks, Antonelli is starting to look like he gets the demands of this new spec of car better.
    • I didn't watch all of the England friendly last night but I did see some of it. Still seems like they have a few gears to go through. But then I also felt that for the Uruguay and Japan friendlies a few months ago, so... hmmm...
