2013 Headliners

It can be cool to hate a band AND they can be crap. The two aren't mutually exclusive. It's cool to hate Mumfords and they suck.

Like I said, not really a Biffy fan, just thought the album was pretty good - I gave the caveat of it being cool to hate them because every other time Biffy have been mentioned in this thread people have posted about how terrible they are and how they shouldn't be anywhere. I was pre-empting that reaction.

i've no doubt that Kasabian are probably a great live band - i just don't think they have the songs to fill a Glastonbury headline slot. sure they've got their share of hits, but some of the recent ones (Days Are Forgotten, Where Did All The Love Go spring to mind) are boring as hell. i'm sure stuff like LSF and Fire is amazing live, but so much of it is just plodding, drab, middle of the road indie

Kasabian were a terrific band. At Glastonbury in 2007 they blew me away, I loved their energy and slightly edgy style! BUT in the past 3 years I've found em pretty boring. A mediocre performance at Reading was out classed by the Foos the following day. Not a Glasto headliner yet for me.

    • I'm 59. It's not so much the music as the camping/late night chaos I've grown out of at R+L. If I was still local to Leeds I might still be persuaded for a day ticket if the lineup was to my taste.
