I think that they either have the third headliner booked already, and will reveal at a time when they are looking for a boost in ticket sales, or they have two options for third headliner - one with bigger draw, but pricier, and one with less draw and less expensive to book. They can see how ticket sales go and book whichever suits their needs.

Interestingly, this is a huge step up in scope of line up for Governor's Ball, which is only in its third year.

Is it just me that reads that Governor's Ball poster as saying it happens near the beginning of June, about three weeks before Glasto, not two weeks after? Which also means it's further from Kanye's baby, doesn't it? Isn't she due in July? Plus, isn't it in New York, near where he lives and thus near where the baby may be born? Personally I don't think the baby comes into any decision making much but if it does, that tells us nothing about Glastonbury.

I don't agree, Glasto would sellout without having to wait until you released any headliners, it's just they way it is ans we have to get used to the fact.

"They can see how ticket sales go and book whichever suits their needs.", This is wrong

Pretty likely. I do think they have put alot of their focus on the stones, they may of felt abit secondary.

Actually re reading that I don't think that's true at all. I think they probably declined because they wanted to tour america more.

I think he was talking about that Festival in New York, not Glasto.

    • Either or. They both play the same venues.

    • Interesting to read. It's mostly why we stopped going a few years back even though it's the nearest big festival to home. The post-exams timing and location makes it a rites of passage first festival for people in a big area. Understandably that leads to a bit of giddiness. Think lineup would need to be a lot more my cup of tea to be enticed back. Friends who are there are having a good time tho and no rain is a good thing for up there.
    • I honestly didn't know it had, I still thought it was where the view overlooked the lake and view.   I think my decision not to attend this year at least was justified. Biffy was the big draw but after Finsbury I knew they wouldn't play what I want to hear again and well work also got in the way. Believed interesting to hear if Libertines were any good as they were also a pull but Sunday did nothing for me really with all my acts on Friday and Saturday.
