What you need is a double skin tent so thats two zips they got to open a huge hoofin bright torch cause the good thing about night sight if your not prepared for it a bright light in the face can blind them for a few secs and brighter the torch longer the blinding and a tent peg hammer. As soon as you hear the first zip get your torch and when the go for the second zip flash em with the torch and then break their fing fingers. They wont come back, report it to the police and then they can check any medical facilities for any pikeys that have turned up with a broken hand.

You sound like a right douche.

Dont walk into Glastonbury preaching all peace and love, Glastonbury has never been entirely peace and love. There will always be scallys, if you cant be smart enough to properly protect your property, aswell as have security money incase of problems, you shouldnt be at glastonbury anyway.

Be smart. Youll have fun. Be a douche. You will get robbed.

Dont preach on this forums about how youll never return to the UK, and how we're all thieving scallies. Your just stupid. Your girlfriend thinks so too.

an experience like that would end up making me an even stronger person. i no most people has said it... but come on who leaves 400 pound in a tent. why draw it all out? why not put it in the lock up?

someone suggested putting padlocks on your tent. i was talking to a guy who when to glasto a few years ago and did the same thing, an end up getting his tent sliced opened. the second U put padlocks on your tent its like a big advertisement saying i have something worth robbing.

an again like allot of people have said keep the faith in the British festivals. maybe do your homework a little closer next time.

Think people are being a bit harsh to SoCal here, I'd be f**king pissed to if it happened, sometimes its good to vent and in the heat of the moment your going blame and say things you didn't mean to.

Good to see people acepting the thieves to as though its part and parcel and thats its peoples silly thought for getting robbed. Great

I know its 15 pages long and has gone on a bit but I don't think anyone reading the thread from start to finish could really draw the same conclusion you have. Sure he should be pissed off, rightly so, and theres nothing wrong with venting, but did you actually read some of the shit he said? It went way and beyond what was acceptable. I shall tarnish an entire nation because i got robbed. I think I've laboured the point, but in case you missed it, America is hardly crime free. The basis for his rant at the country as a whole was hypocritical and he came back and repeated it. Look, if crimes got to happen, and this is harsh, surely it is best it happens to prejudiced morons as some sort of punishment for their racist points of view?

There is an ever so subtle difference that you seem to have missed between accepting the thieves and rolling over, as you suggest, and accepting there is theft and doing stuff to make sure you aren't a victim. I assume you don't leave your house unlocked when you go out?

I'm sure that if he/she had just come on here and told their tale as a warning then they would have got all of the sympathy in the world, but to start accusing others around them of planning the robbery nad then to make accusations about this country and it's attitudes towards foreigners is a bit much. Sure some have risen above that but I think it's perfectly reasonable for others to take the bait and argue back, and to then say that anyone who does is being harsh is a bit unfair.

Has been back on the forum and how shite sercurity are in the sercurity thread - but not returned to post here. It would be interesting if their views are still the same now they have had time to reflect on the situation in terms of the people camped in CT etc.

I got robbed in New Orleans, the works, so understand what a nightmare it is sorting it all out. The difference seems to be that I returned there on holiday the following year, it is such a great, friendly place for music after all.

Also been robbed of most everything in New Zealand, probably the lowest crime rate in the western world I believe. 1% of people are sociopaths no matter which country you visit unfortunately, many more people have traits in that direction.

I think the people who rattle on about CT being the perfect spot to camp should have a whip round to replace their stolen gear.

That's Glasto spirit, isn't it ?

The view that's taken on these things is that everyone's voice has the same right to be heard - so while you would like this to now fade away, someone else might like to discuss it further. Topics live or die by the interest there is in continuing the discussion.

And while you say "It's such a shame one user has bought about so much trouble for " - which is something I agree with from one angle - it's actually more accurate to say "a thief" is the real cause of the trouble. And because thieving is an issue at all festivals, there's a positive side to this thread in that it's creating awareness of the problem that will hopefully get to mean that some people will take extra care in future and won't be a victim as a result.

It's only just over a week since we all returned from Glastonbury, so for the moment at least I'm going to let this topic run. I will however keep it under review and might consider closing it in the (near) future.
