U2 Set Looks Heavy On 90's Material

As for Moment of Surrender. What a shame to build up a wonderful singalong moment on the Pyramid Stage with With or Without you and then finish with Moment of Surrender - a song even devoted fans would not rate in their top 30 U2 songs..

Don't read too much into what people are saying here. U2 fans(myself included) obsess over setlists and are highly critical because they don't vary enough from night to night. But if you've never seen them before, and you so much as think they're music is ok, they are guaranteed to blow you away.

Even the poor songs from the setlist: Vertigo, Elevation, Boots go down great live. They will play all of the crowd pleasers, including Bad. There's a massive chance they'll play Unforgettable Fire and Ultraviolet as well.

Dont be planning to go to Arcadia just yet? :)

New Years Day would be a lock.

I wouldn't read too much into their tour setlists. Different crowd, different purpose. If you have a look at an extended list of what they've played over the past two or three legs, you'll see most of the 'Greatest Hits' rotating in and out of the set. I think the only thing really is time. Looking at Blur and Springsteen, they went for 24-26 songs. Muse for only 18, but their songs a longer, and they fart around a lot. U2 will be somewhere in the middle. Maybe 22 songs, two shy of a regular gig.

For Glastonbury,

Will definitely, definitely get: Where The Streets Have No Name, With or Without You, One, Beautiful Day, Vertigo, New Years Day, Until the End of the World, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For.

Will almost certainly get: Pride, Even Better than the Real Thing, Mysterious Ways, City of Blinding Lights, Bad, Elevation, Get On Your Boots.

Will probably get: Magnificent, I Will Follow

Good chance: All I Want Is You, Desire

That's 20 songs. If you throw in their Glastonbury song, and the chance of something like When Love Comes to Town with BB King (good chance?), there's your set.

Possible substitutes for some of the above, or the pool they'll pick from if they go for more than 22 songs: Moment of Surrender, The Fly, Ultraviolet, Crazy Tonight, The Unforgettable Fire, Walk On, Out of Control, Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me, Stay, Angel of Harlem, Stuck in a Moment.

I don't think there'll be anything outside of the above.

Could Bad be a pretty definite bet then? I would be over the moon to hear it turn up. And Stay (Faraway, So Close!), favourite U2 song of all time so I would kill to hear that.

Didn't realise how definite Until the End of the World was as well, hoping if they are deciding to lean towards 90's material they could play something like So Cruel, absolutely beautiful song

Any idea if Stay has turned up recently? If not I really hope they play it in one of these run up shows, would be unbelievable to see that.

It seems like most people on here do!

    • My understanding is that the queues returning back to the UK will be much worse (up to two hours) but the queue entering Lisbon isn’t so bad. That’s just from reading a few forum posts about it though so take it with a pinch of salt!

    • World Cup 2026: What is happening with ticket prices? - BBC Sport   Sounds like Infantino has been learning from his buddy if he's running around claiming its all sold out while quietly dumping tickets below face on assorted secondary websites.
    • Mac DeMarco also cancelled
    • I'm British so it very much would apply for me.   I mean, it's a moot point as I don't have tickets so will not be in town for this, but I've heard reports of lengthy queues and given I remember Lisbon Airport having a long queue at arrivals even pre-EES when I went in 2023, I seem to guess it might be quite the wait, depending on flight paths.   Certainly, the worst I've had pre-EES was a 45 minute wait for a stamp at Valencia Airport in Spain, where 4 flights to non-EU destinations in quick succession were placed one after the other. So I can't say I'm enthusiastic about what's in store. Or you know. Maybe I'm just overthinking it.
