Rumour has it that Jack Bauer did it! It just makes sense, Season 8 finishes, Jack Bauer disappears and on the run, Osama is killed, its what hes been working on! David Parmer must have called him for one last favour, and Jack couldnt say no

i think it's very easy for a lot of people to criticize the American reaction to Bin Ladens death, but you have to think of it from outside your own perspective

alot of you are intellectuals, the people cheering in the streets most likely are not. In america you are taught from kindergarten that America is the good guy, you are very lucky to live in the US and that people America fights are the BAD GUYS

of course, this isnt true. But for a lot of people over there, what the news tells them is fact. Why would people lie to you? Until i moved over here when i was 12 i believed everything i had been told about the US. I had no reason not to. You say the pledge of allegiance every day to the flag on class room wall, you are told tales of how the american presidents were virtuous men on which "our great country" was built, you are told horseshit stories about making friend with the native americans and fighting off the evil English. It's a much nicer version of life to be taught as child, though factual it is not....

So when the BAD GUY, who deemed by the media is responsible for the sole attack on american soil for the last 50 years, has been taken out, a lot of these people see it as a win for America, and this is the reaction a country full of sports enthusiasts deem normal for a win

So yes, a lot of American are dumber then you. I'm sure if England was the size of a continent, and we were all told how wonderful it was from the age of three and never saw the news from outside our own shores then we might not be so clued up to global issues either?

let them have their day of celebration, and try not to be so critical of others just because they react differently then yourself :)

Yeah, its just alien to us i guess, just the same as when seeing something crazy happening elsewhere in the world

Although i ddi chuckle when someone posted on Facebook " Its Amazing what the Amercan's can do when the PS3 Network is Down." :P

there's just this big cynical bandwagon that everyone deems necessary to jump on whenever anything happens, i swear Father Christmas could show himself to be real and his entire purpose in life is to make children happy...

and the reaction from people here would be "peado"

State sponsored murder is unacceptable in my eyes. How can we begin to preach about democracy and the rule of law to other countries when we practice the very thing we are criticising.

    • I'm surprised they risked it, especially after nearly missing their Glasto 22 slot under similar circumstances  I did see someome say Ellie didnt sound as strong as recently but I'm guessing playing 3 shows in 2 different continents doesnt help that    On the topic though I can definitely see them doing a Fontaines and having a break over winter before a few final Clearing shows next summer
    • That's fair on WA - I did recall people thinking Fontaines would take this year off before this was announced.    On the subject of Wolf Alice, they did Lollapalooza in Chicago on Saturday then Kendal Calling last night. Bit of an odd choice, no? Half imagine at Kendal that they would've been just exhausted.
    • Just logged onto the app to start planning my days and there really are a LOT of stages missing. Apart from the Seaside Stage there is no Casemates this year etc. Apart from the Seaside Stage, there are no Casemates this year, etc. Can't see anything about the kids field really. And there's local acts that are normally there like Kojak's Revenge that aren't appearing either.  Normally we get down fairly early but I can't see anything before 3pm I'm keen to see. Only one real clash as well, which is good, but it's thin and it's not thin in the sense of "I've seen a lot of these acts before"
