2012 Lineup

Guest Hart Attack

Doesn't look like 2012's Main Stage headline acts are going to be for me judging by the predictions, Foos pretty much confirmed by the looks of things and I have no interest in seeing them. Kanye/Jay-Z, Placebo, Bloc Party and System would all interest me, but beyond that the likely candidates look like they aren't my thing, Kasabian in particular I've seen before and I found them terminally unremarkable, especially the boring new album. So with that in mind I'd like to see a good run of tent headliners, Jane's Addiction was a good booking this year, kind of made redundant by the fact that they clashed with Pulp and they didn't even show up, I don't know about anybody else but I'd be chuffed to see them back next time around. I saw somebody's poster with Dinosaur Jr. predicted as FR headliner, that would definitely justify me coming to Leeds next year, would make the festival for me. Other possible tent headliners could be Massive Attack to tick the dance act box, The Cribs would be good, always a good act. I reckon James would be really good, they'd attract a slightly older crowd but they've got hits that the young uns will know, they really know how to put on a good show as well. The Smashing Pumpkins have been mentioned on here as a possible NME headline, I'd say that's rather wishful thinking, they're a bit too big for the tent, but they do have a new album out and I would love to see them do it.

I would put Gaslight where Shikari are and replace with Less Than Jake and have on same day as Lockup double.

Kasabian I still have slight doubts over with pheonix an all that but if not, then yes.

And another slight one would be as has been said The Vaccines might take a 5th main so up one and TDCC either 2nd NME or not there this year but I would love it to run as you've put it.

But I do believe there will be a slot for Bloc Party at least sub headlining in there.

So a possible alternative of

SOAD

The Prodigy

Kasabian

Bloc Party

Foo Fighters

Biffy Clyro

But still great poster

Yeah you're probably right, Shikari's placement was more a hopeful thing on my part.

I chose not to include bloc party because i wasn't sure if they'd play unless they headlined, also the whole kele thing. Again though you're probably right.

Tbh i just hope SOAD headline and not Jay Z/Kanye!!

I would Imagine if Kele is back then they'll play. By the looks of it they won't be playing V.

If they get Stone Roses and Coldplay, they're not going to sub to one of those and aren't going to be 2nd stage header to one of those I dpubt.

With the inclusion of them and based on Efests saying the reading hotel has been block booked whole weekend.

System Of A Down

Slipknot

Jay-Z & Kanye West

The Prodigy

Foo Fighters

Biffy Clyro

Would then be my guess

Just fancied seeing if I could create a lineup with these three headliners, while going into a bit more depth than my last lineup so it more closely resembles this year's initial announcement poster. Here's what I've come up with:

Bloc Party

Mumford & Sons

Florence + The Machine

The Wombats

The Gaslight Anthem

The All-American Rejects

AFI

Bowling For Soup

Hard-Fi

The Rifles

NME/Radio 1 Stage

The Darkness

The Hives

All Time Low

Architects

Los Campesinos!

Blood Red Shoes

Wolf Gang

Lock Up Stage

NOFX

Festival Republic Stage

Pop Will Eat Itself

Saturday

Main Stage

New Order

Suede

Placebo

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds

Brand New

The Subways

Reel Big Fish

British Sea Power

Manchester Orchestra

NME/Radio 1 Stage

Chase And Status

Justice

Sonic Boom Six

Everything Everything

Hurts

Darwin Deez

White Denim

Lock Up Stage

Gallows

Festival Republic Stage

Miles Kane

Sunday

Main Stage

Foo Fighters

System Of A Down

Avenged Sevenfold

Motorhead

Bring Me The Horizon

Funeral For A Friend

Kids In Glass Houses

Hundred Reasons

Cancer Bats

NME/Radio 1 Stage

    • Christ didn't even see that!
    • It does feel very bland. It would certainly spell another year (my third, I think) away from Pyramid headliners for me. That doesn't mean they aren't worthy, though. I don't follow what any of them are up to, as it isn't my thing. Good luck to them.   You would think coming off a fallow year, they would want one big hitter. 'Big hitter' is obviously open to debate, but that was/is Madonna. Let's have it right. The eggs have gone in that basket, and it seems (as far the rumours go) that it's blown up. So now you're left with another plan B/replacement headliner.   I'm still of the opinion that Oasis will do it, before the Oasis thing is all said and done. Probably 2028, if they can come to an agreement. It may transpire that 2027 is bland (or at least to some of us), and 2028 is a bit... wild.   Again, though, none of us categorically know ANY of the headliners, as it stands.
