^ They are above them but doesn't mean they are better, oxegen isn't a rock festival its mixed and so thats why it places the script and bep above mcr to appeal to more fans who will, just like if the script or BEP ever came to R/L mcr would headline with the others subbing or lower, just depends on the festival :)

no idear why we would want a band who are not even sub headlining oxygen. when the black eyed peas and the script are both above them.

if things turn out that way, then the answer is actually easy enough to grasp even if you and others don't want to hear it...

It would be because a person with your music tastes is not the target audience of the festival.

To be honest I think MCR will go down pretty well,

I mean everyone talks about bottling them but I dont think it'l be too bad.

I looked 2006 up on youtube and theres a few bottles thrown when they first go on stage but they get bored pretty quickly,

Plus I think alot less people hate them now the "Emo Craze" has died down.

Hopefully something like this.

I'm 18, i'd go watch them see how they perform, I know many others that would as well...plus so what if 15/16yr olds all go to watch them? If they do then Benn made a good choice because they got a good audience but just because you wouldn't watch them doesn't mean anyone else would your age or older

After the announcement I will spend one day writing how much it (probably) sucks then leave this side of the forum. There's only so many times you can say you don't like the line up.

I'm going to wait for the second or third announcement before I make a decision. If I am suddenly awakened by the idea of a name like Blur, Suede or Soundgarden being dropped then I'll feel even more motivated to get a ticket but if the undercard is shite then my festival allowance is going on either Hop Farm or I'll Be Your Mirror. Smaller festivals seems to have a lot more going for them this year.

That's annoying as the thing that always saves the line up for me is the Lock Stage which will be the 3rd/4th announcement and all that time waiting could be better spent planning other fests but still R&L is my preffered major fests of choice so will give a chance and I will go to the same small fests every year regardledss of line up anyway.

Muse may have played all the festivals to death, not have the best crowd interaction & some of their songs go on for a bit.

But they will put on an epic show & it will be quality.

A very safe booking, but definitely a worthy one.

I remember being a bit bored when they played that, but when it kicked in it was worth it.

EDIT- I know a lot of people don't like Muse's music, but you can't deny that that video shows that they will rock Reading in August (if they play!).

    • Plenty of good stuff this month. Very difficult choice, but I'm going with some of those I've listened to most (the sunny weather may also have been influential)...   1. The Coral - 388 2. Kurt Vile - Philadelphia's Been Good to Me 3. The Lemon Twigs - Look For Your Mind!   Others I've been enjoying... Laurie Anderson's live album, Broken Social Scene, Pigeon, The Black Keys, etc
    • Yesterday was was Primavera is all about and a reminder of why I come back every year. I saw 9 acts, very diverse in terms of genre and vibe, and most of them were great.  Highlights:   The Cure - have wanted to see them for years. Finally caught them and it was immaculate. Robert Smith's vocals at his age are incredible. The band sounded exactly like the albums which is impressive. 2.5 hours with basically no filler somehow.  Viagra Boys - what a front man! So much energy. Non stop moshing. Sound was great, vibe was top notch. Again 10/10 for me.  Rilo Kiley - basically what pipan said. Not a huge crowd but nice vibe, good sound. Different from the other acts I saw.   I also enjoyed the late night electronic stuff with Aurora Halal and KI/KI being fun. Caught some of Skrillex before Aurora Halal and it was cool in it's own way but not really my thing so we left.
