Whoever said its a bit early for bands to be booked now. Your right in a fashion, but was it not in John Gidding's who said in that interview the other day:

Keeping the police bills down. It's the cost, the cost, VAT and PRS, and all that stuff the punters don't care about. PRS and VAT changes on January 1st which might explain why a lot of people are going on sale before Christmas.

I'd imagine with the VAT going up on January the 1st the festival organisers will be booking as many bands as early as they can to save on money therefore make more profit.

With all tickets going on sale December 3rd you'd expect a few to be down already. But still you'd also expect that not many people would be in the know at this point in time, all will be hush-hush until at least Feb, I mean last year there was next to no leaks, apart from Twitter before March the kept everything quite well last year.
