His hands have been like that for years and they've always just about managed so I don't think that would stop them.

The article says it was at a band meeting that his memory seemed really bad but I thought the band meeting was next month? Certainly in the interviews for his book he seemed pretty together mentally

I'd even heard that for the last tour or 2, there's another guitarist filling in behind a curtain. And this is from people who have worked with them on tours and such. With Ronnie spending half the show mucking about with the backing singers, seemingly unaware he's on stage ans supposed to be playing guitar, and Keith's problems... another guitarist seems a good idea

So having a nose around on one or two of The Stones forums it seems as though the "Stones Summit" was supposed to be yesterday.

The strong rumour over there is a tour starting in June in Europe which is a break from recent Stones touring patterns and Glastonbury continues to be mentioned as a very strong possibility.

My hunch is that, as others have said (Neil included I think?) that the Stones are first choice for either Saturday or Sunday with Coldplay as a fall back option. If this is the case and the Stones have decided to go for a tour that includes Glastonbury, some very strong rumours / hints will start to leak out sooner rather than later now.

This might also explain why the rumours of mainstage headliners are a little harder to pin down for next year because of the uncertainty over The Stones.

I should add that I have zero inside knowledge and all of this is purely conjecture on my part with more than just a little bias as I would love to see The Stones at Glastonbury.

I'll start by saying I have no info either.

But I'm of the belief that the Stones were planned for this year (2010), and when they decided not to tour in 2010 Glasto had to go and find another headliner. So Emily has told me, Stevie Wonder wasn't in the frame to play until sometime in January (and I'm of the belief that that's no lie. But of course it could be), which implies to me that they were initially planning to have someone else.

The rumours were that the tour due to start in 2010 was also to start in June. As you say, that's not the normal Stones pattern, and there has to be a reason why. Glastonbury fits as the reason.

It took until January for the "stones not touring in 2010" announcement to come out earlier this year, but I have a feeling that the band meeting was a little later in December last year than it's been this year, so it's possible that something might come out before xmas this time.

Unfortunately it's near impossible to get a handle on the inside goings on of the stones, and their PR has a history of telling porkies both on and off the record to keep these goings on under wraps. So while there might be rumours floating around and those rumours might grow stronger over the coming weeks it's unlikely that any of them relating to Glasto* will have any real substance behind them until an announcement is made (or not).

(* I know that some stones fans DO have a way of getting info on some of their touring plans via a convoluted way, but because of how they get that info it won't be possible for them to Glasto info via the same method).

All i'm getting is last years! where they were 4-1!...but better still, muse were 14-1 to Headline the saturday! Damn why didnt I take that bet? I thought it was pretty much common knowledge that they were saturday Headliners...

I give up with this betting lark, think i'll go eat another mince pie!
