Goths

Does anyone else have a problem with these? I find they can be a real problem, especially round the camping areas. My friends wife is petrified of them and last year two got in their tent on Thursday night. She wouldn't go back in all weekend, even though we assured her they were gone.

I just found this on the Rentokil website. I didn't know about the eggs or larva, I guess the key is to get rid of these then you won't get the adults.

Protecting Your Home and Family from Goths.

While goths do not pose a health risk, they are a pest in homes because of the severe damage their larvae cause to clothes, fabrics, furs, leather and carpets.

This damage may continue for many weeks after goth caterpillars have hatched.  Serious harm may have been done before numbers of flying goths are seen and so prevention of a goth problem is important.

While a minor infestation of goths can be dealt with using DIY products, an established goth problem is likely to require professional assistance.

Signs of a goth Problem

Often the first sign of a goth problem will be damage to fabrics but there will usually be other indicators:

adult goths (often crawling rather than flying)

maggot-like larvae (goth caterpillars)

the silken tubes or cases in which goth larvae live

pupae (silk cocoons) in which larvae turn into goths.

    • Same’s happened at MSG recently with Rush and Phish alternating nights. I guess each band has its own unique production so their riggers will be kept busy
    • The rumour was uk arena tour late this year.  Same as Charli xcx cant be announced until Reading headline is done.
    • Latest from the sun at least is that harry is still headlining but Olivia has turned down a spot next year to work on new music and hope for 2028.   So they can't have Fender, Fontaines, Harry, Olivia and Madonna.
    • I mean I don't think EC and FFDP are borderline sub, they wouldn't be any lower now.   2025 is about as strong as Bloodstock gets yet this year only one headline would sub and the others would play 3rd down or lower.    Machine Head wouldn't sub at Download regardless of rarity, they don't sell enough tickets and I'm not sure Gojira would sub either. Their last UK tour was a mix of smaller arenas and academy dates. Ally Pally being the only London date, not even Wembley Arena.
    • live music / main stage will generally end around 11pm but theres dj’s and late goings on right till 4am if you are so inclined.   Drinks are about £7.50 a pint probably and yes theres lots of mixed drinks / spirits / cocktails available to buy   wonderful festival, back for my third year in a row and 4th overall
