For the sake of one of the best threads on efestivals, cant everyone just drop in completely.

theres wrongs on both sides plain to see, this thread has taken a down turn for the worse in the last few hours.

Its not my place to tell anyone how to go about their business, but perhaps the use of certain language hasnt helped matters.

so onwards and upwards,

trainers and raves in the sun :)

That's the problem with autocrats.

I enjoy reading this forum, this thread in particular. The standard of conversation is good, there's a great atmosphere and sense of humour between posters.

What a shame its let down by supercilious, holier-than-thou moderation, where people who are attempting to explain their opinion in a reasoned manner are treated like infants. I don't think the pictures should have been posted personally but the moderator has lost any credence with the way he talks to people.

One plus side though, all the hot air generated by this thread is bound to keep the clouds away from Glasto. That's how it works, isn't it?

And that's the problem with monocrats - they believe that their own view is shared by everyone and can't possibly be considered unreasonable by anyone.

If people hadn't acted like infants by acting on my requests that it stop over the last two days then we wouldn't be here. I had a decision to make - do I allow this site to be thought of unreasonably sexist by a number of right-minded people, or do I let the mob and their simple-minded mob mentality rule the roost.

It's only become necessary to talk down to people because they wouldn't get out of the gutter, and who think that's where this site should be. It never will be.

How would we bully you? You're the one with the admin panel.

I do like it and I'm not going to leave unless I'm forced to. In the couple of years I've been here I'm pretty sure I've never seen you make a nice or remotely positive post, ergo putting a downer on everyone else's forum experience. Are you trying to argue that the last five pages were better than the ones before where there were certain images that I'm not trying to deny might offend some people? Because I think you're on your own there. I'm becoming aware that i'm turning into you here, so this will be my last post on the matter. May I ask as a humble citizen of your quite excellent website that you follow suit?

you're attempting to bully me into backing down from what is an indisputably reasonable position - it's indisputable because no one, however smart they think themselves, has been able to justify what I've asked to stop.

And given that you and many others have done that, how do you think any females might feel about trying to ask you of the same thing? Plenty have now waded in agreeing with the stance I've taken, but they clearly didn't feel able to do so until it was clear that it's just me who'd take any flak about it.

Your welcome to your views on how I run these forums, but there's a reason why these remain vibrant when others (including some that were once much busier than these) have died a death. It's because I won't allow the idiots to take over and drive the sensible ones away.

Yes, the more recent pages have been better - if nothing else, a number of people have realised the error of their ways (they've posted to say so), and the world is a better place for that.

I will keep defending the stance I've taken until such time as everyone has got it or has shut up about it.

you're welcome to see it like that. Yet you're also able to see the posts in here from more than me saying that you're wrong and which say you're not as reasonable as you wish to believe. And given that I share that view, then I'm not able to see your words as the "civilised" you believe them as but as Neanderthal at best.

I think not, this was a great thread til someone barged in and had a row with someone else about Metcheck. That then turned into a major debate about some not too distaseful pictures that were posted.

Neil, I must say, stick to running the site mate, not posting and modding because at the moment sadly you're coming across as jack of all trades master of none. None of us are perfect and neither are you.

What on earth has got in to people?!?!?!?

In my experience Neil has done nothing other than the right thing regarding the pictures that were cropping up. I understand the fun behind them but it is a festival forum, I come here to share the spirit of the festival, I'm certain sexism in any form is not part of Glastonbury...

It is challenging and it opens our eyes and long may that continue.

And the other point about Neil only being negative it utter shite.

Keep the fools out and maintain the spirit and the site will continue to blossom, if you need to look at top heavy lovelies there is a time and place for that as well, just not here.

Now then, what's the craic with the weather?

    • TOP 10 acts (top 5 in bold😞   Blood Orange (ciutat)   Guitarricadelafuente   Oklou - Looks like I'm capable of enjoying music in the rain after all, just not the whole night.   Rilo Kiley   The Cure   Jade   Depresión Sonora   Gelli Haha (Parc del Forum) - Her music never really clicked with me. Until I saw her live.   MARINA   Six Sex (ciutat) - I was shocked how supersmall the venue was and that almost everyone (except for me) knew every word of every song (including the ones that were released this weekend!).   Honorable mention:   Ashnikko - missed the first 15 minutes (because of Gelli Haha) and I'm not really a fan of her music, but the show was an absolute blast.
    • Totally agree about PinkPantheress stage choice. 'Luckily' for me, one of my main targets, fakemink, was absolutely awful, meaning that I left early and was in a surprisingly good spot at Cupra before it got totally packed.
    • As many said before, not my favourite Primavera. sh*tty weather is something I'm not really used to when enjoying music. Poor communication (more than 1 hour long radio silence during the worst rain) didn't help, but the main problem was me. I decided to leave the venue after things seemed to be getting back to normal. Massive Attack were supposed to play again (with Hymn of the Big Wheel back on the setlist!) as were all other artists on the smaller stages (including Fcukers with one my favourite albums of the year). FOMO was at an all-time high. However, after 4 hours in the rain, I had to admit to myself that I'm not cut out for this. I wasn't even that soaked (water-proof jacket worked). I was just fed up with the rain, wind and cold and wasn't able to enjoy music anymore.   Also, they should stop ignoring the growth of some artists between signing them up and their actual performance. Both PinkPantheress and Ninajirachi sets were ruined for me by completely inadequate stage choice.   However, I felt very much the same way after the 2022 edition and have thoroughly enjoyed all subsequent editions. So I'm still buying early bird tickets for 2027 and hoping this was a hiccup not the start of a downward trend.
    • I will definitely be buying a 2027 early bird pass, partially because of the priority reservation privileges for the Ciutat sets. Hopefully the organization will take action to improve upon this year's failings. Because I thought the free water options and sound quality were an improvement over last year, so clearly they can actually implement positive changes.   I also hope all the douchebag chompers get in the sea, cause I was more bothered by them than in the past few years.   Highlights: The Cure, Ninajirachi, Knocked Loose, Current 93, Blood Orange.
