this thread is given a roller coaster build up to the festival, from one day declaring wash out to the next a sun shine of hope.

if we get a completely dry festival, ill eat a sock on the sunday that i have worn for a full previous day. surely there is no more that i can offer for a dry weekend.

come on! i want to rave in my trainers! :D

OK, I sent a discrete PM to Devonhammer pointing out the (now removed) Metcheck page on this site, which I and he can be forgiven for thinking implied that there was some sort of relationship between the sites. I did not expect him to broadcast that information on another site. In fact I suggested that he sleep on things and come back in the morning when things had calmed down.

I am saying this because when he made the accusation of a "financial relationship" it was due to an idea that I put in his head. I am satisfied that that there is no longer any such relationship

From what I gather the reason he was warned (not banned) was because he was gently defending the posting of German/French images which is a long standing in-joke on the Weather threads. It seems things had escalated in recent days and some of the images of German women had crossed the line and the offenders (including myself) should rightly have been warned, but Devonhammer was not one of those people posting inappropriate images.

I feel realy bad because he was one of the people on this thread who posted the most genuinely useful weather related posts as well as the some of the witty banter that has always been an element of this thread, it has never been just a dull factual discussion about the weather forecasts.

So, please E-festivals can I take the warn instead of Devonhammer and can everyone else just be allowed to conduct this thread in the manner it had evolved, but without the overt sexist imagery?

which part of me saying "I don't expect perfection" did you miss?

It only degenerated as it did because some people - which may or may not include you - objected to being told to stop, because they were thinking with their dicks and not their brains. It needed to be pointed out to them in that manner in the end, because the politer requests I'd made over the last couple of days had no effect.

No, he was ridiculing my asking that it stop, with the result that others also felt they should wade in and claim it as 'harmless fun' too. It wasn't the ridiculing me I objected to, it was the effect it had.

While there might have been others I could have warned instead, I wasn't going to warn everyone, and it had to be someone. It just happened to be him at the point I'd had enough.

So, please E-festivals can I take the warn instead of Devonhammer

nope, what's done is done. He's as responsible for his own actions as anyone else.

Wednesday could be better, looks showery

rain.png

Thursday looks more promising, high pressure squeezing in. Drier weather looks likely

thurs.png

Look at the HIGH pressure for Sunday.

Be aware that this can and probably will change, it's positive though.

NFR NFC :D

That's all I see most of the time on these forums, respect for one another, especially this thread. A lot of the respect and image posting has been dry and tongue in cheek and lets face it at the end of the day just a laugh. Could you and the few other Mary Whitehouses that complained not see through this?

then you're blind cooter.

I get constant complaints about the amount of overt sexism that comes from some people here, and those people aren't being Mary's they're real human beings who have as much right for their views to be respected as anyone's. The constant sexism simply isn't necessary.

What I am surprised about is some disturbing narrow-mindedness creeping in when I thought we were all very open minded and forgiving and up for a laugh Glasto punters! ;)

your own view is no less narrow minded than you're thinking others as being. Some people are not laughing, because their thoughts on things are not being led by their dicks.

There has to be a point I step in. When polite requests have absolutely no effect, what do you think I should do? Let it go?

In which case why shouldn't I also let racism and homophobia go too? It's all from the same place within people's heads.

Yeah the latest pressure charts are looking quite promising for the main festival, though I'm still concerned about the Tuesday/Wednesday rain. Hopefully everything will come a day or two earlier to give the ground time to absorb the (seemingly) inevitable 'downpour' early next week.

Also Neil, you're really dragging this out aren't you? Pretty sure the only reason it's still under discussion is because you're taking the bait every time.

NFR, NFC. The next three days are critical!

Don't know whats been going on; been away for a couple of days

Shame that this thread seemed to go the way many other threads do :( .

Lets hope things get back on track with non of the silliness.

So what's the weather looking like....in English please :D

hate to bring this up anymore....doesn't seem right to ban devonhammer when he didn't actually post the pictures, just defended people posting them.

How many times do I have to say it?

He was not banned. He was not stopped from posting.

If he's saying differently, then he is a liar.

I have no reason to lie about any of this. I'm quite happy to ban people if I feel it's necessary.

(Sorry, I would like to return to weather debate, but this is interesting, and I can't see a practical way to fork it into another thread)

I'm not going to let people suggest that what was happening was justifiable, because it simply wasn't.

So every time someone posts to suggest that it was, I'm going to tell them that they're wrong.

If some don't like that, they don't have to use this website. I'd rather have this website populated by those who are able to engage their brains than those who can't.

    • Boards of Canada never perform live, I doubt they'll start now. Also Strokes have a show in Barcelona next tour so also less likely.   And adding Nine Inch Noize to the mix And we should definitely get Iggy Pop back before his body completlt dismantles
    • Starmer wagging his finger with a stern warning again. The media are briefed they'll  ban social media for under 16s then he stands up and makes an empty threat on nude images. Why does he keep doing this?
    • My top 5:   1. Little Simz (her appearance with Gorillaz was also one of the highlights of their show. The absolute winner of the weekend) 2. Cure 3. Rilo Kiley 4. Gorillaz. A bit disappointing set for me, compared to last time. Felt like a bad setlist, whenever things started to heat up, they did some new calmer song 5. Florance Road. The good thing thay came out of the rain is being able to see them
    • So since Andy Copping has stepped down and this new booker has taken over, we’ve had Green Day (who Andy never managed to book) and now potentially Blink 182 (another Andy never got done) is this just coincidence or do you think Andy never actually pushed hard for these bands?
    • After three cancelations in a row  I'm not sure if we should just give up, or chear up cause we got so much closer this time
