Guys and Girls - we seriously need to chill.....

Try to remember 2008 and 2009. The predictions where very grim, from JACKONE as well. What actually happened? Yes, it did rain and rather a lot Thursday night. However, it stopped and then dried out by early Saturday morning. So just 1 day of a small amount of rain/ mud - the rest sunny and no mud...Remember you need a lot of constant/ heavy rain to wipe out the whole festival.

Even if it's low pressure, you might miss out on rain.

This years predictions are actually the same if not better than 2008/ 2009, (JACKONE is more optimistic this year than he was for those). Even 2010 had a possiblity of a mud bath, until only 2 days before..

It's going to be fine...Trust me...

Does anyone know what was predicted for this week a week ago by the various websites/enthusiasts? We may be able to work out the most reliable from that? Or it may just be coincidence?

In Sussex today it is overcast and cool. I tried to strike a deal with the 'cloud council' that I would have bad wetaher on my birthday (which is today) in exchange for good weather for Glastonbury. Do you think overcast means my deal has been accepted or revoked?

You know, I have always found the best weather at Glasto is like it is in York today - broken cloud. Best of both worlds - not raining and not blisteringly hot. That would be my choice if I was given it. :)

It turned into a giant paddling pool in June '05 because the ground was rock solid. It's rained quite a lot in Glastonbury over the past week so the ground has had time to soften up and drainage is much better.

It only rained for a couple of hours in 2005 and the place turned into this.

a few hours rain? it was a 6 hour thunderstorm of biblical proportions.

Its almost like the weather isnt the main issue here, but everyone's goddam negativity!!!! leave it at the door, it aint fooking welcome

This doesn't look too bad.. The usual heavy rain this weekend but mostly light rain and sunny in the run up to the festival and throughout.

I've been reading this thread for days now and the fact that the forecast changes daily proves we cannot really start worrying or celebrating until after the weekend when we should have a clearer idea. Either way it'll be an amazing festival as long as we are prepared for any outcome :-)

Edit: The forecast only really shows the run up to the festival but sunny again on the Thursday :-)

Clearly my attempts at rallying calls to you all have fallen on deaf ears. We need to stay positive and believe in dryness and sunshine. That was the key last year, all very upbeat and positive. The sun likes this and responds.

If you expect it, it will come.
