Neil, Neil, Neil why must you drag your brand name into every pathetic argument you allow to go on, on this site.

Don't get me wrong I mean no disrespect to you or your site I have respect for both (to some extent)and mostly enjoy the information and banter it creates, just if you really must give air to naysayers and doubters and challenge their views does it have to be with the efests name thus associating "efestivals" with pointless bickering.

Sign in as Neil, put them right or your opinion of right, tell them to f**k off move on.

Peace

I find it funny that the ONE person in the whole country who found this flawless way of getting tickets, is the same person who had an axe to grind against efestivals about not being able to get on the forums.

Coincidence???

UH No.

I dont have an axe to grind, efest is an awesome site, just wish it a lot more resiliant on tday,

Yet it never can be if people like you think it's right and proper to starve this site of the funds it needs to have the extra capacity you think it should have, as you did.

And it never will be while you encourage others to do the same, as you did.

So you've been a contradictory moron about it. That's the simple fact!

Fair point. Sorry Neil

At last, thank you. :)

You can be damned sure that it frustrates me more than it does you that not everyone who wants to can get on this site at the busier times.

But the only way it can be sorted is by spending money, which means I have to have the money to spend on it. As things stand I'm already spending more on servers than can really be justified.

If this recession carries on for too much longer then it might well be the case that one of the 3 servers that efests currently uses will have to be dumped, because as things stand now there's very few other areas where costs can be cut - outside of making scottie unemployed (which is the very last option).

Neil, obviously you need to generate more income.. more revenue meaning hopefully meaning more financially stable.

Is there anything the members can do or help with?

Promote the eFestivals brand at gigs/festivals?

Sell merchandise at festivals at a stall?

Monthly donation scheme with maybe incentives such as mugs/hats etc given away quarterly for those who subscribe?

Anything at all really, more than willing to help.. I always usually buy a couple of t-shirts or a hoody etc each year, drawers full of stuff though.. maybe increase the range of products but of course that would be a cost to you.

Thanks for the hard work anyway keeping this site running, it is appreciated by most if not all.

helping promote efests at festivals would be excellent, thanks.

Off the top of my head, I could easily knock up some simply flier type things which I could post to people for them to hand out. Good idea?

Am more than happy to hear any other ideas people might have for promoting efests to a wider audience - I'm well aware that on the rockier side of things efests is far less known than it I'd like it to be, and things might well be the same elsewhere too.

You might get a bigger take up if you posted a 4-to-a-page pdf somewhere prominently on the site for people to print their own. Maybe even email it direct to all members - do you have us all set up as a mailing list? Or is that not allowed?

ahhhh, great idea with the PDF. :)

I can certainly mail people - there's 80,000 on the 'proper' maillist, plus all the people on the forums (tho a good number will be on the 'proper' list [tho I can filter those out], tho I know there's also lots of dead addresses used on the forums too). Whether it's something I'd actually want to do tho I'm not sure, I'll mull it over.

I'll get scottie to knock up something for the PDF, as he's a designer by trade anyway. :)

An even bigger sticker in the back of my car....car back windows are good for advertising, aren't they ? With the mileage I do I notice and read loads of them. :)

Good idea - with my next printing order I'll get some car stickers done, and send them out free to anyone who orders a t-shirt, etc. :)

My GOD. I go away for a year (not really I come on here often but dont post much anymore so not a need to log in) come back and you two are still at each other like children on a playground (stand by for rant from both of you)

I think you two need to get a room and snog or beat each other to a pulp :)

Neil you are way over sensative and I can so tell why. I know you would love nothing more, than to have an ad-free site with no charges. So when you are trying to keep the forum going, anyone that trys to take the food away is goign to feel the roth right..

Dave. FFS man I love you to bits, you are like a brother to me, but stop with all this man. I again understand your frustration and I know you have an over whelming desire to help.

If we had helped 1000 efesters to get tickets that would be 1000 other people that did not get any. nothing anyone ever does is going to be fair to the others that do not.

Ranting at Neil ain't going to help dude. OH AND Neil responding to it is just as bad!! Please dont shout at me now though :)

Now, maybe another thread somewhere that could invite people with the skills to advise on ways to make some money to keep this place top of the tree would be a good idea

Any SEO experts in the house?

Yes the adult is in the room now, so you can all stop with wet tissue on the ceiling and get back to your desks.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
