I was listening to a couple of Stevie Wonder CDs and I got my thinking back to his set. Just like you can measure the strength of a football team by the players on the bench, I guess you could measure Stevie's set by the songs he didn't play, including;

As

Ebony Eyes

I Wish

Isn't She Lovely

Saturn

I could go on....

Lately

Too High

He's Misstra Know it All

Pastime Paradise

etc etc.

Let's be honest, his back catalogue could put together a 3 hour set with nothing but solid quality.

Part-Time Lover is a very average song IMO.

Didn't he play My Cherie Amour?? :blink: (I was pretty drunk so maybe not)

Yester-me, Yester-you, Yester-day - belter.

Yeah I did wonder if Macca would turn up to duet on 'Ebony & Ivory'. It seemed to be a weekend of surprise appearances after all!

I was a bit gutted that Stevie didn't sing 'Lately' as it's such a beautiful song. Very sad though...gives me a lump in my throat every time!

I am just watching the documentary of the making of "songs in the key of life" on BBC2 and realise 1) what a great man and musician he is 2) what a special album that was 3) some of the great songs he didn't, couldn't given the tome play and 4) that i had the privilege of seeing one of my all time idols, something that will stay with me for the rest of my life :D:D

truly special!
