just for sheer nostalgia and because its been done for the last 10 years but IS THERE ANY CHANCE OF AC/DC? :D Got a feeling its going to be a mixed bag next year of old school bands and bands that aint big enough for the slot that they'll get but are well on there way to being massive, a few of them that in a few years you'll be proud to tell someone that you saw them when they played 3rd down at Donington but it'll be a disappointment next year.

It's going to take some doing though to beat this years line-up, is it just me that looks at the line-up for this year now and sit there thinking did that really happen?

If mcr don't play reading and leeds then they'll be headlining or subheadlining at download. Na na na has to be the catchiest song i've heard all year, and with a straight up rock n roll album the download audience may be more inclined to them this time round than on the black parade.

Red hot Chillis' Chad Smith has announced he can not tour with Chickenfoot next year as the Chillies have festival dates booked.

I could maybe see Chilli Peppers headlining Fri/Sat

AC has said Zombie isnt headlining material but i reckon he will def be there, but not headlining, there will be some hard core heavy metal band headlining to even it out.

and I think (hope) Van Halen will headline 'classic rock Sunday', with them having a new album to promote.

Okay, i am new to this forum as i usually follow the RR-up on the DL website but since there is a lot happening here im going to try it out.

I could definatley see this happening

FRI : Green Day/Limp Bizkit, Black Stone Cherry, Linkin' Park

SAT : Nickelback/Metallica, w/Papa Roach or Disturbed or Trivium or ROB ZOMBIE ? ?

SUN : Van Halen / Led Zepplin

I'm wondering in what guise Corey Taylor will appear in. If I'm right he has only missed one Download in 2008??

StoneSour?? Granted they headlined 2nd stage last year but main stage sub-headliners?

Or an accoustic solo set perhaps?

Just wondering...........

BSC are absolutely massive at the moment therefore i think that Bon Jovi will go away to Soni or R/L and BSC would play on the Friday. Van Halen to Headline the Sunday with Special Guests Led Zeppelin if they do play. In regards to PJ and SG, i don't think that they'll play in my opinion!

QOTSA/FF are not in my list as im not sure if they will be playing DL this year. Maybe R/L Unfortunately.

Neither will Slipknot or Stone Sour as SS is rumored to be a Soni Headliner. i don't think slipknot are touring therefore? ?

however, if i was to be honest, i think that IM and LZ will be the speical guests.

This is a very achievable line-up in my opinion

thinking about it, that would actually be the shit! led zep doing all three nights delving into their belting back catalogue, would be a fantastic way of having one alst hurrah. More chance of me and jacko duetting on the pyramid stage at glasto tho lol. Plus I think they are the only band that could ever get away with doing something like that (Maybe pink floyd at a push).

I meant LZ to be special guests!

And i dont think that my predicted lineup is that bad and BSC can Headline just as good as RHCP or Limp Bizkit could in my opinion!

@thedudeman: i am sobered up! I agree Led Zeppelin could headline all days in a freaky download festival blaze of glory!

However, this would happen therefore im saying that LZ could Headline Sunday with Van Halen Under them. E

Most people should admit, despite there status, Van Halen would be a PERFECT sub-headliner for LZ again in my opinion

    • Well Jason Isbell is on blistering form for this run of European gigs, wonderful night in Bristol
    • I am also interested in this. I was looking for past years, and it looks like it has a limited capacity.  I would love to see Ela Minus, but I guess I won't be able to make it in time, unfortunately.
    • Does anyone know if I can take my wheelchair into the seated area of this festival
    • Kraftwerk have been a big influence on my musical tastes over the years and were great in London last night.  And a v. respectful audience with not much chatter or mobiles being held up etc. Although given the dancy mixes they do live there were moments when I was thinking I'd prefer to be stood!
