Those old school footballers wouldnt last 5 minutes in a game these days though.

Oh, I know.

Which says to me that any Utd fan should be mightily concerned about Rooney's reported 20-a-day habit, cos it means his effectiveness is going to fall off a cliff sooner than you'd otherwise be thinking.

I'd be surprised if Fergie lets it go - which I guess comes to mean that Rooney will give it up sharpish or he'll be out the door. But given that Fergie is very likely to have known about it for quite a while and Rooney is still smoking (he was still just a few weeks ago, at least) I'd say his days at OT might well be numbered.

:O

I wouldn't go that far. Fergie has commented on him smoking before: "I'm not getting into that" when asked. I think Wayne will have to do a LOT more than that to be shown the door at Old Trafford. Murder Bobby Charlton or something.

:lol::lol:

But nah ..... all it takes is to say something other than "Fergie is the best manager ever" - as proven so many times previously by other players.*

Which I guess is why you blinkered reds can't own up to his faults, you're scared he'll have you blackballed as a Utd fan. :P:lol:

edit: (* maybe that's why Wayne had to libel Moyes, to curry favour with Fergie? :P)

 f**k off.

Nah, Fergie has put up with Cantona assaulting fans, Keane assaulting players (both were captains), McGrath being a pisshead (took him a couple of years to get rid of him) etc. He also put up with and defended various Ronaldo shenanigans. The only thing I know he wont tolerate is the celeb circuit shite.

But what he hasn't put up with is the most mild criticism of him as a manger by one of his players. Kicking people is fine (:O), but dare to be anything but fully complimentary about the manager and you're out of there. ;)

The Rooney episode can only make Baconface look bad. His most talented player (ever?) could potentially do a Georgie Best on him here.

He won't take any responsibility though. Theres clearly a discipline problem at the club if theres this much boozing and whoring going on.

Hartsons a pretty inspirational bloke but not sure he is managerial material. The candidates according to the media are

1. Giggs- Still playing and was never that committed anyway

2. Saunders - Done nothing at a conference team so why should he get the wales job.

3. Speed - Just got job so unlikely

4. O neil - Dream on, the wales job is only going to attract welshman and championship level managers

5. Coleman - Wouldnt be the worse choice, didnt do bad in the premeirship. Didnt inspire st coventry.

6. Jackett - Completely uninspiring

7. Flynn - Topped a group with france u21, tops a group with italy u21s. Has worked with the majority of players.

All common sense points to option 7 but common sense isnt what the welsh fa are known for.

The thing is villa can attract and afford a far higher calibre manager than wales can. As I said welshman exculding the managers applying are not the type of person who will have much experience in the limelight. Brian Flynn has managed 3 sides and all have improved under him. There is no evidence that good players make good managers. Other countries promote from within and get success, why not us. I dont think there is a great spotlight on the wales job anyway, the media is south wales dominated and rugby obsessed.

    • Same’s happened at MSG recently with Rush and Phish alternating nights. I guess each band has its own unique production so their riggers will be kept busy
    • The rumour was uk arena tour late this year.  Same as Charli xcx cant be announced until Reading headline is done.
    • Latest from the sun at least is that harry is still headlining but Olivia has turned down a spot next year to work on new music and hope for 2028.   So they can't have Fender, Fontaines, Harry, Olivia and Madonna.
    • I mean I don't think EC and FFDP are borderline sub, they wouldn't be any lower now.   2025 is about as strong as Bloodstock gets yet this year only one headline would sub and the others would play 3rd down or lower.    Machine Head wouldn't sub at Download regardless of rarity, they don't sell enough tickets and I'm not sure Gojira would sub either. Their last UK tour was a mix of smaller arenas and academy dates. Ally Pally being the only London date, not even Wembley Arena.
    • live music / main stage will generally end around 11pm but theres dj’s and late goings on right till 4am if you are so inclined.   Drinks are about £7.50 a pint probably and yes theres lots of mixed drinks / spirits / cocktails available to buy   wonderful festival, back for my third year in a row and 4th overall
