I remember the part I've stated perfectly thanks - that Hleb was rated most effective player. The finer details that I'm less certain of (rated by exactly who? - I can't be 100% certain, which I said at the off) have no impact on that certain fact.

I've posted this fact about Hleb several times before. It clearly passed you by then just as it did at the time.

It appears that some on here have personal perspectives on the players that come up in discussions, what do you have? Or are you simply sticking with the above wealth of knowledge?

I dont pretend to have a view on our reserves, the last time I saw them Mendi was seeing out his days with them. I do however take on board the views of others who do go to watch our reserves regularly.

Funnily enough, I also take on board stuff I get to hear from others who watched players in action.

You know, like the guys who study every game to a depth you'll never manage, and via which they create a stats database that they can sell access to for tens of thousands of pounds.

I'm wise enough to recognise I don't know everything and that some things I know I might not always remember, while you "real fans" claim to know even the things which you know you don't know - such as Hleb's rating that season.

All I've done is stated how Hleb was rated that season. The quality of responses was best with CBC giving his goals scored and assists, and it's been all downhill from you "real fans" since that point.

If you don't agree with the rating fair enough - but to properly dispute them you'd need to know exactly how they were arrived at, given that the knowledge required to collate them is far greater than your own knowledge. But you come complete dicks with shooting the messenger.

Also, if you bothered to read rather than get carried away with your misplaced self importance, I have not commented on how good Hleb was or not.

What I have commented upon is you relying on statistics - that you may or may not have seen, and even if you have you admit you know nothing about how those statistics have been gathered - and not accepting the opinion of those that have actually seen the player in question live and on many ocassions.

Finally, for 924th time (it might not be that many i can't remember...), the only person discussing the merits of 'real' fans is you. I assume because underneath all the shit you spout, you realise that you don't attend any of these matches that the players in question are playing in.

The jist of what you posted was all about how you "real fans" who see players in the flesh have by default a greater knowledge than anyone who only watches matches on TV.

Finally some truth (it isn't the one stuck to his chair).

In a stadium you get a long distance view of the action. You get a view of the whole pitch but you're not watching the whole pitch most of the time anyway, so you end up watching pretty much the same action but from a greater distance. Dependant exactly where you're sat and where the action is at any time, you lose a fair amount of distance perspective on the game.

TV is far from perfect because you're not able to have that full view of the pitch- but as most of the time in the stands that's not what you're looking at anyway, it doesn't end up making a world of difference. All of what you see on TV is in proper perspective, and mostly with a MUCH clearer view of what happens (rather than what you might think has happened).
