Right

Lets have my little say on O'Neill can I as a Villa supporter

Im glad he's gone, however the timing isn't good

O'Neill is a spoilt little brat, he's like a child, yes he's the manager but if the whole world told him he was wrong he'd stand by that he was right

Glad someone else agrees with me regarding Martin O'Neil.

All Celtic fans seem to think of him as a hero, he won the SPL with Larssson, Sutton and Hartson in his team. I think any team could win the SPL with those 3! He left them (ok was beacuse his wife was ill) but when he left they were stuck with a team of over paid 32+ year olds at the end of their career and Strachan was left to completely rebuild the team.

I'm guessing you put money a player that's not coming back off an almost year long injury and that's not just joined a new team that struggled badly all last season.

I've put money on no one, but someone here has posted to say they've bet on someone that fills at least half of that criteria - Kris Boyd. :P

McDonald had a decent game for Boro tonight. Won against Chesterfield 2-1. They played well in the second half too - a good game I thought.

The Chesterfield fans at one point were singing "Same old Boro...always cheating"

I have no Idea what they mean

Aston Villa director General Charles Krulak has hit out at manager Martin O'Neill following his abrupt departure with the new Premier League season looming.

''No one person is bigger than our club - not me, not Randy, not Paul Faulkner (chief executive), not Martin. What is interesting is that, apparently, only three of those named understand that fact.''

Thinking about a fantasy football team? It will probably be Alex but Ivanovic could play in the middle too. He started there for the charity shield but Alex was injured.

It does leave Chelsea looking rather short at the back though so I'd expect to see them signing a replacement.

RB - Bosingwa, Ferreira

CB - Ivanovic, Terry, Alex

LB - Cole, Zhirkov

Bosingwa was injured for a lot of last season, Zhirkov is more of a wingback/midfielder and Ferreira hasn't really been a first choice for quite a while!

If it's any consolation, apart from giving our full England international the night off, that was our strongest side. And we got absolutely soaked.

Soaked? Rain? So you had a nice () night at the Rec? :P

The landlord of my local in Brizzle says that the Rec is the prettiest ground in England*. I always fall about laughing when he says that.

(* to be fair to him, away fans go thru the park at the back of the ground, which probably has more flowers/greenery than the concrete entrances to most grounds).

We might be signing Julian Speroni from Palace as a replacement for Brad Jones who might be going to Liverpool (and a certain club may be laughing all the way to the bank).

When Palace were in the PL many moons ago he always seemed like a bit of clown who was prone to mistakes, but apparently he's become one of the best keepers around over the last few years

    • I'm surprised they risked it, especially after nearly missing their Glasto 22 slot under similar circumstances  I did see someome say Ellie didnt sound as strong as recently but I'm guessing playing 3 shows in 2 different continents doesnt help that    On the topic though I can definitely see them doing a Fontaines and having a break over winter before a few final Clearing shows next summer
    • That's fair on WA - I did recall people thinking Fontaines would take this year off before this was announced.    On the subject of Wolf Alice, they did Lollapalooza in Chicago on Saturday then Kendal Calling last night. Bit of an odd choice, no? Half imagine at Kendal that they would've been just exhausted.
    • Just logged onto the app to start planning my days and there really are a LOT of stages missing. Apart from the Seaside Stage there is no Casemates this year etc. Apart from the Seaside Stage, there are no Casemates this year, etc. Can't see anything about the kids field really. And there's local acts that are normally there like Kojak's Revenge that aren't appearing either.  Normally we get down fairly early but I can't see anything before 3pm I'm keen to see. Only one real clash as well, which is good, but it's thin and it's not thin in the sense of "I've seen a lot of these acts before"
    • Lifelong Carlisle United supporter here.🤦‍♂️ Good luck for the coming Season and see you in October!
