Its funny when Gerrard dives the media either say, he is just doing what foreigner do, say he isnt that type of player or do a Wenger and pretend they havent seen it. I complain about the media bias to rooney but think they are worse for Stevie g. Admitedly not Beckham levels though.

Pretty easy really, we gifted Liverpool their goal, no idea why Jacobsen let the ball bounce, and fully deserved the three points.

Hitz brings some class and composure in midfield and with three strikers bang in form we always looked the more likely to score.

Shame we have Stoke next who play a style of football we're not usually good at playing against. Still will enjoy tonight and Monday morning what with the 'Scousers' at work...

Yeah West Ham were very good really, did a good job. Not surprising though, they've got some good players and have clearly been underachieving. We looked pretty tired though. Missed Agger and Meireles and Kelly when they went off. Gerrard was also clearly not 100% fit.

There is a fairly poor squad depth. No-one has argued otherwise, but we've had a lot of games and quite a lot of minor injuries which means even a big squad would eventually become a bit disjointed on the pitch.

Under Roy we had few injuries but I'm on about now and how it affected today after our problems the past few weeks. We've had Aurelio, Carragher, Kelly, Johnson, Agger (times about 3), Meireles (twice had to come off), Gerrard and Carroll all out or playing slightly injured. This in turn has meant some players, such as Lucas, have played every minute and today- playing centrally basically centrally by himself- he was showing signs of fatigue. Not "rather amusing" but correct.

It's been like that all season.

If I have it right then it's 5th and the two cup winners that get entry places for Europe. If a cup winner has already qualified due to league position then 6th gets a place. If both cup winners qualify then 7th gets a place too.

I find it amusing that you'd highlight this most mundane and petty set of circumstances as an injury problem, t'was all.

Ah, so this is what it's about. You're defending King Kenny by putting this down to some unfortunate set of minor injury incidents. So you're comparing manager to manager. Fair enough.

But all teams have injuries, that's just football. Chelsea this season have been affected by it badly, and last season, united had that many injuries at one point carrick and fletcher were the central defenders. Quick bit of googling indicates at one point they were without ten defensive players (Nine outfield players, one goalkeeper). Obviously this is an extreme example but the point stands, injuries can't be used as a contributing factor for a loss because every team in the league is forced to deal with them.

for me it's teams with ex-livi players. so leeds and west brom are the two main ones. and middlesbrough for my bet (if it still stands) and to see how miserable they're doing.

don't tend to care much though, it's all about livi!

On the defensive a bit I see. All teams have injuries of this kind. It does not excuse him for losing against West Ham. What does excuse him is that he has a fairly average team.

He lost against West Ham because his team aren't all that good.
